With all the rain might be worth the drive to se the museum and ride a train,

No book report. It has been nice to get out in the yard again. One good thing about the rain is it makes pulling the weeds easier. The wind did make me nervous. There are really tall palm in the area and I could see them whipping around like crazy. I’m a bit surprised the tops didn’t snap off. We’re suppose to have decent weather over the weekend (unless that changes). If we do then I wish you all a sunny weekend.

Somebody needs to invent a multi-weed puller. I got a few tools including grandpa puller but none could pull out rows of grass that infected my mulch. Apparently gardeners for the next door neighbors reseeded their lawn on a windy day and it got into my mulch patch. I’ve tried making a few designs myself with no success.

Actually it’s simple as long as ground hasn’t dried out.
You get the Grandson and his 5 year old Son out there, ya show them how easy weeds pull out. Ya separate them about 12 feet for Safety and tell ’em “We’re gonna have a weed fight.”
.
It’s amazing how much laughter there is and how fast those weeds get yanked. My Great Grandson will have that memory and learned a tradition he’ll be able to pass onto his son after I’m gone.

No, it’s quite boring. Gardening is not my hobby. I would rather hire it done. No grandkids either. A gardener spruced it up last year but the insane rains have brought up a fresh crop in spite of spraying with the organic Ground Clear. Grandpa’s Weeder is a handy tool for those deep rooted weeks like thistle but not for grass.

I thought I might save this one for D-Day but I’m afraid I’d forget.

Pick One:
.
A) Feta
B) Goat
C) Yuck

Well…. Feta is kind of a cute name, she might even be good lookin…. but a goat won’t get pregnant or tell anybody what you did. Take it from me, I was raised on a farm.

🤦

B) Goat. I love cheese, any kind, except cheddar and cottage cheese.

I thought feta was goat cheese. If I compare feta to chevre, I would choose chevre.

Jeff
The fete sold in the United States is goat but in Greece I can be goat of sheep cheese

Goat cheese is good, but A) feta I like better.

@S
A)
Crumpled Feta on a Greek salad.

@ CYN ~ Yes, Yum!

A: like a Feta cheese omelet. B is okay too on some things. Yuck would be Velveeta.

Seems pretty much a tie this week.
.
I gotta say “B”, as other(s) mentioned is less salty.
.
Y’all have good week !

Do any of you remember your Dad having hammer / hatchet for dry wall ?

.
As a kid, guessed it was for roofing.
Even at 70+, still learning and he makes it look so danged easy.

I do not recall my Dad having one (though lost him at a young age), but I have one. Nowadays, I use screws, and am nowhere near that adept as the man in your link.

Feta and goat cheese are very similar. both are good on salads, I do prefer goat cheese. A salad with spring greens, perhaps spinach, avocado, cucumber, kidney beans and goat cheese is very good and satisfying, and some kind of vinegrette dressing. I also make an aspergus (or some other veggies)omelet with goat cheese, don’t think feta would work as well.

The feta I’ve had was much too salty, unlike the goat cheese, which is much milder and more flavorful.

My girlfriend and I went to Aung Burma on Wednesday . The service was very good. It was a great meal. Papaya salad had just the right spice for our taste. Our main dishes noodles / crab and noodle/ prawns were very good too. I reccomend this for a good dinner out.
I dont normally post restaurant reviews but this was worth noting and sharing..
Support local businesses!!!!!!

I agree, I went there with my daughter a few weeks back. They’re located on Salvio St. across from Todos Santos.

Thanks for posting this. Is a place I have been interested in for a while, but haven’t made it there yet. I may have to bump it up on my list.
.
A friend told me that the dishes are offered at various spice/hot levels and is you’re not sure they will prep a dish 1/2 & 1/2 for you so you can try the very hot and mild. Tells me good customer service.
.
Looking at the menu it all looks good; my problem will be making a choice……

Gettin’ the lasagne pan ready for tomorrow’s family lasagne feed. Do you have a favorite ingredient for your lasagne? This one’s gonna be veg, with mozzarella, parmesan, and ricotta cheeses, spinach, onion, garlic, mushrooms, (jarred) marinara, lasagne noodles, and whatever else sounds good. Sometimes I add some fresh chopped thyme. Been contemplating adding a pound of nicely sliced smoked corn snake, but…..nah.

Fresh basil, finely chopped. Do not use dried basil!

@CALIFORNIA TOAD ~
A bit pesto adds a nice flavor mixed with the ricotta, …. if you haven’t assembled it yet.

@ROZ….When the Brenden first opened there was a wood-fired oven pizza shop on the south side of the entrance that had a goat cheese and pesto pizza that was really good. I’ve made a couple of those pies, pretty good combination..

@ NYTEMUVR ~
I remember that place.
Went there a few times and their meal were pretty darn good.

WOW !
.
This weeks Whatever is making me hungry. Cheese, Burmese, and now Lasagna.
.
I’ve never met a Lasagna I didn’t like. Forced to “PICK ONE”…
.
Italian Sausage, an abundance of Mushrooms (pre-sweated, use the liquid in your sauce) and Spinach, Cottage Cheese (drained well, also use the liquid in your sauce) and a Tomato sauce with HEAVY Garlic and Red Onion…..
.
However, C T….. you didn’t tell us what time to be over?????? I’ll bring the Vino !
.
🙂

To save seedling vegetable plants transplanted into garden from chewing insects sawing them off at ground level, cut bottom out of an old sour cream container. Shove container into ground with plant inside, insects have trouble getting up sides. If plant is small enough, like pole beans can use plastic solo cups by cutting bottom off.
.
Another protection, empty tuna can, pour 1/4″ of soy sauce in then 1/4″ of cooking oil, we use cheap canola.
Insects go for soy sauce and get coated in oil and die.

Speaking of all these foods this Whatever….
.
Cooked up a huge pot of Pozole this past week. Was the kind of good that makes your eyes roll back in your head…..
.
I often look up the history of food, but hadn’t for Pozol….
.
Well… I did…..
.
I chose not to share the history with those I served…. It did gross me out a tiny bit….
.
🙂

Liked this post, Original G – thank you!

Food…Well last night was Crack Chicken Night. A super yummy crockpot recipe. Haven’t made it for quite awhile.

“Yeah, Tuesdays are like that “, totally agree

Well antioch isn’t changing, shopping center in west antioch that used to have a Longs Drug, has a roll off dumpster with doors open and trash strewn about. Then there’s the free range garbage dumped behind sound wall. Been in various stages of a garbage dump off and on for over a year.

Did anybody see the UFO hovering over Walnut Creek low in the sky last night on Thursday 3/30 around 8:30 pm? It was a bright white color, larger than Jupiter and kept wobbling up and down and sideways. I’ve seen them before, but this one was so pronounced. It was low in the sky over north Walnut Creek/south Pleasant Hill. Sometimes they show up before larger earthquakes.
