I got sick of the rain last December. Just because we need it, doesn’t mean I like it. This kind of weather is nothing new, in the mid 19th century, California experienced quite a few unusual heavy storms, the storm that killed off half of the Donner Party was one of them.

… not until all the reservoirs are full and ground water has been restored – because we know we can’t rely on Newsom to try with any expediency to build more water retention facilities or desal plants

Yes, because it’s probably overkill. We had less rain filled seasons that still filled the reservoirs. Now I’m beginning to believe the folks here that say they let the reservoir water run out to the ocean anyway. I do imagine there may be some logistics about how much should be retained and how much let go to avoid overflow.

I love the rain, always have loved it. I like the sound of it hitting a car roof, or the sounds as I listen sitting in the backyard. I enjoy the feel of the rain hitting me as I walk in it. I like the smell after the rain has fallen. Beats snow.
That reminds me of 2 songs The Doors, Roadhouse Blues, and l think it was Johnny Winters Summer rain. I too like the sound of the rain, and in California you know come summer the rain stops. Not like on the East Coast and especially Denmark you can get quite a bit of rain all year. In Denmark l could wake up to nice sunny weather ride my bike to the beach (about 40 minutes) then when you get to the beach it’s cloudy and perhaps raining then when you get home again the sun might be out, very frustrating. No wonder l love California weather.

Ok I will check that one out as well. Summer Rain by Johnny Rivers brings back memories when I was an au pair in Westport Ct. Where they do get summer rain and thunder as well.

Selfishly, I am sick of it on weekends when it interferes with my recreational activities, but in the long run I’m glad to have it.

I can’t stand the rain, against my window
Bringing back, sweet memories
I can’t stand the rain, against my window
Cause he ain’t here with me…..
Tina Turner is OK, but I actually prefer Clapton’s “Let It Rain” now that’s a great song… so is “Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain” tho I’m not much of a Willie Nelson fan.
Don’t forget “Rhythm of the Rain” by the Cascades.

@HANNE JEPPESEN..…You just impressed me referencing those two songs….I would have never thought.
Thank you. Both songs of my youth, brings back memories.
@nytemuvr, You got impressed too soon. It is Johnny Rivers doing Summer Rain, just listened to it on UTube, every bit as good as I remember.
@HANNE JEPPESEN…..Johnny Rivers is pretty cool too….good songs.
@HANNE JEPPESEN….I think Johnny Rivers and this is what pops in my mind….

@Jeff (The Other One)
Agree 100%. I could not have said it better.
God, no! We need as much as we can get.
No, but done with the intensity of it, and how everything hits at one time and affects people, homes and loved ones.
Nope
I like weather
It’s a fun hobby to watch and try and predict
Oh no! We need more and more because we are in a global-warming-drought! Drought!!!

Thank you chemtrails, so predictable.
Chemtrails? Yes! Or, it could be caused by Russian weather machines, or the Hollow Earth people, or space aliens preparing for Earth invasion ….

I got a fever… and the only cure is more cowbell.
Johnny Rivers did “Summer Rain’.
@OLD OTIS….And Johnny Winters had a song named “Rain” too….pretty nice blues number.

Don’t sleep on Howard Jones “Don’t Always Look at the Rain”
@ROLLO TOMASI..…I like that, good call.
But what about CCR?
Have you ever seen the rain. Love CCR and most of their songs. The reason I thought of Johnny Rivers is it suggest a soft gentle rain and sound.
Or the late great Purple one?
