York!

No, not “Yuck” – York Peppermint Patties!

I love the Andes and the York Peppermint Patties!

D) York Peppermint Patty, properly refrigerated

And don’t forget the frozen Girl Scout Thin Mint cookies.

A! Love them.

A) But weren’t they originally called Frango Mints? Or were they just a Seattle Fredrick and Nelson thing? Anyway they’re really cool. 🥶

I thought maybe as well. Was worth looking up over my first cup this morning. They aren’t. And Frango was a good 30 years ahead of Andes. Thanks Capt. B.

and my answer is “A”

The founders of BLM enriched themselves by monetized the killing of black people I cannot 8dentify any measurable benefit to the black community. Why is this acceptable to ‘woke’ people?

Bay Area air quality regulators voted this week to phase out pollution-churning furnaces and water heaters that run on natural gas, starting as soon as four years from now.
But the regulators made no reference to gas stoves, which emit many of the same harmful gases that pose risks to human health.
There’s a key reason: The Bay Area Air Quality Management District, which approved the new furnace and water heater rules Wednesday, doesn’t regulate pollution inside homes.
“We do not regulate indoor air quality,” BAAQMD spokesperson Kristine Roselius told The Chronicle.

Good luck taking mine out … I will also still burn wood in my wood burning fireplace and outdoor fire pit.

Pollution churning furnaces and water heaters … a joke, just like them.

10

It’s interesting they offered up a list of timelines, yet made no mention of an actual business plan.
What will it cost to build additional electric grids to support all electric households?
What energy source will power those electric grids? Will it be clean?
How much will the infrastructure cost, and how much pollution will be generated to build it?
What is the payback time on this investment, not just in dollars, but in reduced pollution if any?
The plan, if you can call it that, lacks detail.

I have no idea how harmful indoor pollution is from this. However, a year ago or so I tried to do the math from a global warming carbon footprint basis on what the impact is from using natural gas here and concluded that the sum total of all residential natural gas use in California was approximately equal to a couple of hundredths of one percent of what China is producing in greenhouse gases per year. These numbers are not discussed as far as I know and I think maybe it’s a triumph of propaganda over reality as far as helping any global warming issue. Again, I don’t have any idea about the indoor health issues.

Favorite places to visit – US and outside US.

I’ll go first –
US: New Orleans
Outside: Munich, Germany

Hawaii. Of the ex-US, the coolest place I visited was probably Neuchatel, Switzerland, but my visit was work related. Gorgeous area on Lake Neuchatel.

US: NYC
Outside: tossup Rome or Bangkok

US: Niagra Falls
Outside: Venice, Italy

U.S.: Kauai
Outside: Anywhere in Italy

New Orleans? One big yuck. I cannot imagine actually wanting to ever even visit there.

I lived in New Orleans for one and half years, in the early seventies. Moved there with my boyfriend (now ex husband) food was great, weather horrible, hot and humid 9 months of the year, glad when he was transferred back to New York City, where we had lived before. However, Brannan eggs benedict, gin fizz’s and Banana;s Foster was out of this world. almost worth the time we spend there. We would often drive to Fort Walton Florida, where the beaches were great. Louisiana didn’t really have any good beaches.

In the US: Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. A nice small town on a beautiful lake, populated with wonderful people in northern Idaho.

Outside the US: The island of Cebu in the Philippines. Beautiful scenery, waterfalls, historic buildings, nice beaches, and nice people that love Americans.

No cities in the US
Outside – Athens Greece and my ultimate favorite place on the planet Mykonos Greece. The beauty of Mykons is hard to beat

Look at my comment further down about New Orleans. I do think it can be a fun town to visit, especially if you like tradional jazz.
My favorite places to visit in California Yosemite no 1, Gold Country 2, then Tahoe, wine country, coastline.
Outside of California New York City, Westport Ct. Boston and Florida.
Outside of the US of course Copenhagen I know it so well from the time I was a child. Then a couple of cities where I have friends and spend a good deal of time, Gothenburg, Sweden, Reykjavik Iceland. As just a tourist, London, Munich, Vancouver, Canada and almost any place in Israel.

Book report: Something Wicked This Way Comes, Ray Bradbury, 1962. The Carnival come to town. Billing calls it Cooger & Dark’s Pandemonium Shadow Show. The marry-go-round goes backwards as well as forward and add or subtract years as it spins. And two young boys are drawn to it. Bradbury writes this in a weird, crazy, almost insane way. I read before I sleep at night and I’m lucky I didn’t have weird dreams or nightmares. Can’t say young people won’t.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day.

Have always enjoyed Bradbury’s work, and “Something Wicked ..” is one of the best!

His collections of short stories are excellent as well.

Did anyone else see the space junk re-entering the atmosphere or a bunch of rockets at around 9:20 PM. I got it on video. So I hope to know what it is soon.

Actually that was his return from the Seventh Planet the name of which can’t be mentioned here.

Yes, I remember our phone number from back in the 1970s.

Newscum I see is on his high donkey once again spouting off more crazy garbage of grand plans of ruining Ca even more.

Honestly he’s gone over the edge with his agenda.

They don’t regulate indoor air? I’ve never seen an outdoor gas furnace heater for indoor use nor an outdoor gas water heater for indoor use. All my life they have either been in a basement, garage, or in the house. When did they become outdoor problems?

It’s getting ridiculous. There is a illegal street vender set up on Ayer’s by the corner of the park. Besides taking up the whole corner with his/hers stand, cars block the road to use this site. Now from a street corner they are selling Tamales with no visible way of making sure they are fresh and maintained at a proper tempeture to make sure they don’t go bad and are also now taking credit cards. They have been there for a few years and are only expanding there business. Where is the health dept or the city in all of this.

3
1

I would think there’s a way to find out if they have a permit.

2
1

Thank you for the info! I will stop by to get some fresh tamales, yummy!

There, there Sick Of It…. don’t fret.
Let them continue their business.
If they have been there for years, then they’re doing something very right!
People don’t go back to a vendor who made them sick…. so there!

I posted my comment to early, I mean to add, if you pretend you want to buy their products, you can ask if they can show you there permit, so you know they allowed to sell the products. I would think if they are there on consisteant basis they would have a permit. You read stories all the time about kids getting shut down for selling lemonate with a permit. I have a California life and health insurance license, if I go out and sell insurance, (which I’m doing right now) I have to be prepared to show potential clients that I’m licensed to sell insurance in this state.

The Clayton Pioneer torpedoes the Clayton City Council. What a biased, horrible rag that cage liner has become.

What’s with the PG&E this early morning about 1:30am
Watched what appeared to be several (2 or 3) transformers blow. Intense blue light followed by a large buzzing off in the distance.

Joe

Me & my pals tried to reanimate a cadaver… sorry about the noise.

Was the cadaver’s name Abby Normal?

Abby…LoL!
Nah! I’m not sure what his name was… we started celebrating as soon as we got the heart beating & after the first 5 or six drinks we noticed he was gone! No chance to ask him his name…. he never even said “thanks”….. I think he stole my scalpel too.

@S
A & B.
My first time ice skating was in Bellingham, Washington; and my first time roller skating was in Eureka. Both lots of fun and so long ago. I wasn’t half bad at roller skating, and I remember that it didn’t hurt when I fell while ice skating. Fun memories……thanks, S.

Advances from Israel,
A drone system that can pick up fruit

.
A system to shoot down drones and rockets using lasers
https://tinyurl.com/46jxfh87

All we need now are some drones that can mow lawns & wash cars!
Maybe that will slow down all this invasion stuff on the southern border.

Since DEMs can’t, why not sub it out to Israel.
