On March 7th, Pittsburg police officers responded to Stoneman Avenue and Briarcliff Drive where a 17-year-old pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle, which then fled the area. From the onset, this case was handled with an all-hands-on deck approach and investigators worked diligently, following all investigative leads that led to these arrests. This included reviewing of countless hours of video surveillance, which aided in the identification of the suspect vehicle and ultimately the suspects. Investigators served several search warrants in this case to include two Pittsburg residences, a Pittsburg business, and a property in Sonoma County which also led to the recovery of the vehicle involved in the collision.
We are extremely proud of the swift and hard work our detectives, fatal traffic investigators and evidence technician put into this case to provide the family closure and justice. We would like to thank our community for their cooperation in this investigation. In the coming days, investigators will be presenting this case to the Contra Costa District Attorney’s Office for the filing of formal charges. This is still an active investigation. All we as a society can do now is to wait-n-see how many charges get dropped in the plea deal.
They’ll cut a deal with the girlfriend to rat him out, and she won’t do any jail time, just a little probation.
Good work PD! Here’s hoping he gets serious jail time. My heart truly goes out to this poor young girl’s family
Excellent work PPD and all Investigative Agencies.

Him and his wife are owners of a Pittsburg Tattoo Shop called collective arts!
Good job LE! now this time Becton throw the book at them! … look at the priors?! no bail!
Amazing job to all involved. Far too many people these days don’t think their actions have consequences — especially when it comes to drinking and driving. May the young girl rest in peace and her family continue to heal following this tremendous loss.
So glad this person was caught. Condolences to the family of the victim – may she rest in peace.
As of right now neither of them are showing in custody on the CC jail inmate locator. Seems like they have already been released? Really?
@Dude What do you expect? A DUI is like a speeding ticket out here there’s no consequences! Some idiot driving under the influence crashed into my car while it was parked in front of my house. He fled & crashed into another car on the street 5 blocks away from my place! He was arrested & was free the next day! While his out there living his best life I’m over stressing over my car! Driving a Rental ! & of course he has no Insurance!
