Concord Police Department To Conduct DUI Saturation Patrols On Friday – Extra Officers Will Be Searching For Drunk/Drugged Drivers

Additional officers from the Concord Police Department will be out on patrol Friday from 8:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. looking for drivers suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.

Concord Police Department reminds the public that impaired driving is not just from alcohol. Some prescription medications or over-the counter drugs may interfere with driving. Always follow directions for use and read warning labels about driving. While medicinal and recreational marijuana are legal, driving under the influence of marijuana is illegal.

If you plan on drinking or taking medications that may impact your ability to drive safely, plan on staying at home. Driving sober is your safest bet.

Drivers caught driving impaired and charged with DUI will pay a stiff price: an average of $13,500 in fines and penalties, as well as a suspended license.

Please explain why you’d say such a thing.

while I appreciate the diligence for targeting impaired driving, it seems, except on holidays, the incidence is low to none. Perhaps they can look for catalytic converter theft (or at least announce they will be, maybe scare some of these guys away).

Make sure city council L. Brewmiester gets the memo!

How do you look for catalytic converter theft? I’ve witnessed it and it takes no more than 3 minutes.

Yes they will saturate the streets looking for alcohol, they will “roll up” on anyone who smoked weed, they will lace the streets looking for drugs,

It should be AT LEAST until 3am. “let’s go home boys/girls/other, the bars just closed, so there won’t be any more drunk drivers to catch……”
