The Martinez Sturgeon are looking for host families for players during the upcoming season.
The semi-pro baseball team’s players travel from all over the United States — and some from other countries — to spend a summer playing in Martinez.
Team officials said in a statement, “A vital part of a successful season is to have host families provide housing for the players and to a family atmosphere for the summer. We work extremely hard and take pride in providing our players with a safe, comfortable family environment. These young men will have a positive influence in our community and in your home.”
Host families are expected to be able to provide a room for the player for the season, access to a bathroom, kitchen and washer and dryer, if possible, and a safe and comfortable environment.
“You can expect your player to be a conscientious young man who will be a positive role model in your home and the community,” according to the statement. “He is expected to follow the rules in your house, contribute to your family’s routines, and share his gratitude for your generosity. It is not unusual for a player to become a mentor to your young ball player, sharing skills and building a friendship that could last a lifetime.”

I think the Carpoffs have space they aren’t using at their place.
They haven’t found host families for all the Sturgeons yet?
Well… that sucks.
