Three people were killed in a rollover crash in Fairfield early Wednesday morning following a pursuit by California Highway Patrol officers.
Officers located a white Hyundai that had been reported stolen in a carjacking in Vallejo and attempted to make a traffic stop on eastbound Interstate Highway 80 near American Canyon Road around 12:35 a.m., according to the CHP.
The driver failed to stop and led officers on a chase. The vehicle exited at Suisun Valley Road and was involved in a high-speed solo vehicle rollover crash that a CHP spokesperson said resulted in all three people being ejected from the vehicle and suffering fatal injuries. Their names have not been released.
The crash and pursuit are being reviewed by the Solano County Major Crimes Task Force in cooperation with the CHP Golden Gate Division’s Multidisciplinary Accident Investigation Team.
