A multi-vehicle collision sent five people to the hospital this morning in Walnut Creek.
The crash was reported on eastbound hwy.24 near I-680 in Walnut Creek.
All six lanes were briefly shut down, and all patients were safely transported to the hospital.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
The hits just keep on coming.
That seems to be the 3rd crash, 2 fatal in a few days

Ever notice when there is a car crash that involves a Tesla, the media says “A Tesla,” but when it’s regular cars that crash, there is never any mention of what type(s) of vehicle(s) are involved.
Probably because a Tesla has the self drive option, that may or may not work.
I have noticed this as well. Local news may be a bit biased. Not a fan of Elon Musk or his cars so have at it with the punches.

Can’t say for sure, but I seem to recollect that often an article will say SUV or Pick up truck etc. I do remember reading accounts of fatal crashes that will name the car or cars involved i.e. the driver of the Honda was killed and similar. Anyway I don’t see it matters one way or another.

The Problem at that location is the freeway on ramp to 24E/ 680S from Pleasant Hill road.
Too many cowards do not know how to put the pedal to the metal when merging over to 680N.
You people expect everyone else to slam on their brakes for you….. you need to match the freeways speed before attempting any lane changes.
2nd, the 680 Flyover does not require anyone to do 49mph, it’s a banked curve……it’s really not that difficult!!!
I think you are right. Often when having to merge I see drivers either not caring or don’t know how to judge, to either speed up, or slow down, they are in their own little world. Yes, when entering the freeway you are suppose to enter at the speed other cars are going.
Yes, it’s banked the wrong way, and it’s not a wide-radius turn. Some vehicles have to hit it at 61. Plus with the sight line, there can be gridlocked traffic right around the blind turn. Not everybody is driving a race rocket with a low center of gravity and sticky meats.
Life is too short to drive boring cars.
