UPDATE: Lawrence has been located unharmed and returned to his family.
Antioch police are looking for a 19-year-old at-risk man who’s been missing since Tuesday evening.
Lawrence Mayfield is 5 feet, 11 inches tall and weighs approximately 170 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. Police described him as having high-functioning autism.
Mayfield was last seen at about 8 p.m. Tuesday.
He rode away on a silver and black mountain bike and was last seen near Lone Tree Way and Deer Valley Road. He was wearing a red and black 49ers beanie, white face mask, maroon jacket, grey hoodie, and black and white Nike shoes.
Police ask anyone with information to call (925) 778-2441.
That is not exactly the wilderness it is an area surrounded by houses. Lawrence Call HOME !!
This is always so very troubling to read. And, if I am correct, isn’t this the third young black man to go missing in the last few months in Contra Costa County? Sadly, I do remember one of the missing men was recentky found dead in an alleged hit-and-run accident, even though that determination still seems very odd to me based on contradictions in police and news reports.
Not to be an alarmist, but it almost seems possible that there could be a person or persons targeting young black men in the Pittsburg and Antioch corridors.
I hope he and the other young man that went missing is found safe and sound. As always, my thoughts and prayers go out to the poor families and friends.
Such a young-looking man for 19. Hope he finds his way.

Check areas of tall grasses and dense shrubs.

You all remember what happened last time on Highway 4, right?

We appreciate Claycord staff for referring to this adult male as a “man” rather than a “teen”.
.
Praying he comes home safe and sound to his family.
He’s a special needs kid show a little compassion
Has the canal been checked?
It’s easy to get turned around and lost on Deer Valley Rd. Has any one set up a search there? I am going to take a drive and help look! Prayers to the whole family…
