The Pittsburg Police on Sunday arrested one person for DUI and issued a dozen citations, including one for going 112-mph.
The enforcement was part of a DUI saturation patrol, where extra officers are placed on the street to search for unsafe drivers.

The vehicle he was racing wasn’t caught, he was far ahead and wasn’t gonna stop, figured it was doing 140+.
When racing and passing 1 cop, one will always get away.
You would think they could still get a license plate and get him that way.

Good job LE! …glad you nabbed him … however – yesterday, Monday… southbound on 680 in WC about 11am – I’m in the second lane going about 70, CHP about 3 cars in front of me going same speed with flow of traffic – guy comes up in the fast / HOV lane going at least 100 – probably 110…blows right past the CHP (next to him)… CHP did nothing – just continued with the flow of traffic … sigh

It used to be anything over 100 mph was reckless driving and you went to jail now it is just a ticket. No wonder so many people are racing.
No in the 70s you could race on the street, do donuts, do well over 100 and a small fine infraction if even that. I had over 20 of those and various others and nothing ever done more than a $50 fine most of the time a friendly warning.
