Claycord.com is now offering FREE online obituaries for local residents.
We believe dying shouldn’t cost a boatload of money.
Since Claycord.com reaches hundreds of thousands of people, we figured this would be a nice thing to do for those who recently lost loved ones.
We’ve added a “FREE OBITUARIES“ link on the top of the page. All you have to do is fill out the info, attach a picture, and click “submit obituary.”
There’s not even a word limit.
May your loved ones Rest In Peace.
Thank you! That’s a very nice thing to do.
What an incredibly kind and generous act. I only know of one other publication, Lost Coast Outpost in Humboldt County, that also prints obits for free for the locals up there. NICE GOING, Claycord.com!
As much as I appreciate this, I hope I never have a need for such a service.
Using the platform to spread great resources towards the community is awesome, let’s keep going !
Years ago when I subscribed to the “Green Sheet” (and yes, the paper was green in color), if you subscribed to the paper, your obit would be printed for free. Gone are those days…now it’s an outragious price to have an obit printed. This is a very nice gesture.
RIP Boaty McBoatface. You were the people’s champ of mascot choices. Alas you never had a chance to make it to see the light of day. Too many racists appropriating mascots like hawks that is clearly short for tomahawk which is a portmanteau of Uncle Tom and symbol of indigenous suffering. Boats everywhere will mourn the continued oppression of your representation in America.
Edit: we have reliably been advised that boats are a symbol of colonialism and McBoatface is a form of white washing Irish and Scottish supremacy. We no longer mourn the loss and rescind our obituary. RIP inanimate carbon rod.
This is very good of you, Mr. Mayor!
This will be a nice resource for everybody.
Mayor~
Thank You for looking out for the Claycord Family.
This addition will be helpful for Families dealing with loss in their lives.
What a terrific benefit. It’s always so sad when someone says, “If only I had known, I would have attended the service”. People in mourning are touched when someone they didn’t expect to hear from drops them a call or a note. This will make a difference.
She used to be so beautiful,
Sunshine and happiness. A free spirit imaginative, warm and welcoming. A lover of the law, fairness, and justice.

Wonderful and needed.
Thanks to everyone for the nice words. It’s a sad time when someone dies. The last thing people need is extra stress about money.
In 2014 I remember having to pay CC Times over $1,000 to post an obituary.
That’s really awful, RLP Concord.
The $1,000+ CC Times 2014 obituary notice did include a photo and story about the deceased. That was a shocker. I’m grateful that Claycord has made their generous free obituary offer. Free obituaries were kind of the way it used to be in local newspapers – if you go back a few decades. We’ll see how the new Claycord Obituary notices unfolds.
Very Nice
Is this a call for nominations?
