Avatar 1 in Imax 3d when it first came out, 13 years ago….
Havent seen many good movies released since that make me want to go back, most movies they make are trash nowadays or i can just watch them at home being more comfortable and have my own snacks.
I cannot recall if it was the star wars where han solo died, or the spider man with the electric guy. Neither movie interested me to start, and neither movie managed to get me engaged in what was happening on the screen. You know it is bad when you begin to examine the architecture of the theatre instead of watching the movie. Of course, I am not interested in any of the dreck being put out today, nor do I find sitting in those theatre seats to be particularly comfortable.
That Star Wars movie was the second to last I saw in a theater. It was so bad I tried to walk out, but the person I was with kept thinking it would get better. It didn’t.
It was about 2013, and my son was visiting from California. We saw the current Superman movie, and even sitting at the back of the theater, I got explosion overload.

2016 SULLY starring Concord born Tom Hanks. The movie was about Danville CA Capt. Sullenberger’s miracle on the Hudson landing saving everyone’s lives. I’ve watched it twice more at home.

I use to go to the movies all the time. I lived out in the country and there were no movie theater close by, you had to take the bus or train. However, when I visited my aunt in Copenhagen I would go to the movies, this back when movie theaters were quite fancy. I saw the original Von Trapp Family, there it was a German movie and not a musical with Maria Schell, (sister of Maximillan). Often before the movie started there were short shows on different subject, often a travel movie. One was on USA, and they showed the Statue of Liberty and how people could walk up her arm, that was when I first decided I wanted to go the US, not necessarily to live, but definitely to visit. As a teenager my friends and I often went to the movies, saw many American movies. When I lived in Westport and New York, I often went to the movies, either with a date or girl friend. Somehow in nineties I lost interest, not sure why, perhaps because there are no big stars like Paul Newman, Gregory Peck, Steve McQueen, Audrey Hepburn and Ingrid Bergman. Besides by then many good and older movies were often on TV, and now I can find some on UTube, I still like movies, just don’t care to go the a movie theater for some reason. Last movie I saw was “The book Club” with Candice Bergen, Jane Fonda, Don Johnson, Diane Keaton and others.

What’s a movie theater? 🤔

“Major League” with Charlie Sheen, 1989.
A movie worth seeing. Yes, Yes Yes….
