North Gate, South Gate, and Summit Roads in Mount Diablo State Park are closed due to several debris slides and sections of roadway being washed out.
This closure applies to vehicles and bicyclists.
Mitchell Canyon and Macedo Ranch Day Use Parking Lots are open from 8 a.m. until 30 minutes after sunset.
All backcountry trails and fire roads are open for public use. Please use caution and report unsafe trail conditions to park staff.
Interestingly, the state of California still lists us in a drought emergency declaration. I guess all this rain does not fit into their political narratives.
We don’t have enough reservoirs to and too concrete canals to help replenish ground water. It’s not a “political narrative”. If you’ve /actually/ been paying attention all of these years, this would be a well-known concept. I’m taking a leap that I’m a generation younger than you and know far more about this topic. Look up Los Angeles county’s “Emerald Necklace” for example.

Ummmm… just because the Bay Area got hit with a ton of rain doesnt mean that the entire state got hit. Many reservoirs are still well under their historical seasonal average for this time of year.
Maybe we should build some more reservoirs.
