Pittsburg Police held a DUI/Driver License checkpoint right before New Year’s Eve on Railroad Ave., and announced the following results.

  • Vehicles Contacted: 657
  • DUI Arrests: 3
  • Suspended/Unlicensed Drivers: 15
  • Infractions Cited: 15
  • Vehicles Towed: 1

There was a time when driving your car without a license got it impounded.

15 suspended or unlicensed drivers but only 1 impounded? …… a bit of bias going on here?

I think it’s unfortunate that so many criminals caught committing crimes are repeat offenders.

The leniency programs don’t work.

Convicted criminals must be harshly punished so that more of them won’t return to a life of crime.

My comment above was meant for the Concord woman arrested with outstanding warrants.
