Yep, remember Otto Warmbier? Could never understand why his parents let him go (I assume his parents paid for the trip). If you go to places like that (China, Russia, Iran to name a few) and they need a bargaining chip, good luck.
Commies. They are harsh. Every regime is started with mass murders and property confiscation. The rulers become overnight millionaires. Billionaires now.
That’s a tough one. It would be either Ukraine or Afghanistan.
If on this planet and no worries on safety or money…. the depths of the Mariana Trench and the depths of the sea off eastern Japan …. area is less than 5% explored – awesome adventure!
Do a 1-year tour of Europe and see if I ever want to come home, … LOL!

I have seen most of what I have wanted to see. What I would really like to do is time travel to when they were building the pyramids or some of the huge stone walls in Peru or maybe when they made the Nazca lines.
Switzerland.
Disney. I don’t travel any place else. There is no place else that compares.
Go see the real Matterhorn in Switzerland. Nothing like it. Or the Castles in Edinburgh, or the coliseum in Rome, or the Vatican. So many places better than Disney.
I have to agree with Ricardo. I have been to both Switzerland and Edinburgh, I have been to Italy a couple of time, but only Northern Italy. I have to say right here in California we have Yosemite, which is majestic and beautiful. Hard to compare nature, there is no right or wrong. When my family visited from Denmark they were in awe of Yosemite. Even though they have travelled all over Europe, especially Germany, Austra and Switzerland.

Without worrying about money? With bidenomics we are worried, so we’re staying home.
Top 2: Kauai and Italy; we spent a month each in of them this year and plan to go back to both next year. We may include Switzerland next year.
Singapore. It’s pretty, they speak English, and the food is good.

Singapore is great example of good governance. They have so many of the problems we complain about (bad governance, bart, housing, crime etc) solved

Another galaxy. Not so sure this one is safe. I’ve been to India and one thing I noticed once there was the “safety” we take for granted here was not there. It was actually refreshing and exhilarating. But actually a few places like the hotels there was always stationed police. I wanted to return but instead India came to me.

Okinawa is my No. 1 … some others on my “to do” list … Alishan Taiwan, Morocco, Kazakstan, Vladivostok, Tigers Nest in Bhutan, Laos river trip, Manta & Galapagos Ecuador, New Caladonia

You can rent a boat and captain in the Greek islands for about the same price as a cruise. The Greek islands are more of a second world country so you are not bugged by people trying to sell stuff
Two places that I have visited multiple times: Scotland. Italy.
Jerusalem
I used to work as a merchant mariner and for the Navy. I’ve worked in many of the places above. All are great choices to visit. Working outside the USA is eye opening, they have solved most of the problems we call hard. I wish main stream media would point out other countries’ success when talking about our issues.
Florida; the coastal beaches and the hospitality are hard to beat.
I have travelled quite a bit, but have not seen as much as I would have liked. I have always being fascinated by mountains (Denmark is pretty flat) the first mountains I saw, was when I was on the train going through Switzerland (travelling from Copenhagen to Venice, on my way to Israel), so of course Mt. Everest holds a special fascination for me. However, going there is out of the question, now because of age, years ago because of money, and I believe it would include some flights on smaller planes, which I’m not a fan of. I did read Jon Krakauer’s book “Into thin air”, and have watched several documentaries on Everet and the Himalaya’s.
Places I’d love to visit, but am scared based on our current times: Egypt! Palestine & Israel ..The Holy Land, the Wailing Wall! Argentina & Columbia, Kenya, Tanzania, & Madagascar! Mongolia. Russia/Moscow.
Would Love to visit places deep in history from biblical times and before. See ruins of civilizations from thousands of years ago. Would love to see jungles that are untouched.
The only places in the world I haven’t seen but wish I could even though I don’t think it will happen are, in no.particular order:
Paris – I used to speak fluent French, and I want to see the art museum and how Our Lady (ie, Notre Dame) is re uperating.
Italy – art museums
Oberammergau passion play in Germany – thanks to covid my trip to see the 2020 production got canceled (thankfully I eventually got every last cent I paid back) and I have no way of knowing if I’ll be up for the 2030 production whether due to financial or health/stamina issues.
HONORABLE MENTION: It would be fun to go back to Guam and see how it’s changed since I lived there in the late 70s, but it’s just curiosity, not a real focused desire.
