Police in Antioch will host a gun buyback event Saturday.
The event will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the department located at 300 L St.
“This event gives community members the opportunity to surrender unwanted firearms to law enforcement,” Antioch police said in a news release. “This process is anonymous and open to everyone. Participants will not need to provide a form of identification.”
The department will provide gift certificates ranging from $50 to 200, based on the operation and type of firearm.
If you expect to see ANY guns that look like those in the picture to be at the “buy back” event, you are going to be disappointed.
Right? NOBODY is turning in anything like those pictured. And why is it called a “buyback”? Doesn’t that imply the buyer already owned it at one time?
Time to cash in on Grandpa’s squirrel gin for some cash.
And after the buy back, gun violence will end….
I hope this “buy back” will be like the one in NY where the guy outsmarted the tools in charge and printed a bunch of lowers and made out with $21000!
Do the take Flame Throwers ? Asking for a friend.

Guns don’t kill people.
.
If guns kill people, then:
.
…pens misspell words.
…forks make people fat.
… cars drive drunk.
Total waste of taxpayer $$$.
One gun off of the street is one less gun that can kill someone. Looking forward to Concord having their next buy back event.
The guns were never on the street, most of them are old guns that have been sitting in a closet collecting dust.
Dawg, guns no longer susceptible to being acquired in a burglary and used to commit a crime.
I’m sure all the bad guys out there are already lining up to turn in their guns. After this we’ll all be safe!
Always a great idea to sell your constitutional rights away for a Wal-Mart gift card. Guns are not becoming any easier to get. The way crime is now, you may need yours. Proceed accordingly.
…will they be selling any of them? the proceedes from it would probably do more good if donated to good causes…
NEVER relinquish your firearms. Even Grandpa’s squirrel gun can save your life in a pinch.
Those who would beat their swords into plowshares will plow for those of us who will not.
As stated above you will never see any of these type guns turned in as each is worth way more than 200 bucks.
Sadly it is considered by police that all guns in private ownership are “on the streets”.
You do not need to provide any ID when going through the process but you can sure bet a persons description will be noted along with license plate.
And if any of the guns turned in turn out to be lost or stolen there will be no amnesty. : (
I’ve got grandpa’s gun…
t’ain’t a squirrel gun, but has history to it…
it’ll get passed down…
