Janet Yellen was on 60 minutes saying inflation will ease by raising interest rates. Inflation started the day after Biden was elected. Look at the price of oil day by day for November 2020 you will see the energy sector knew what was coming. Raising interest rates just keeps it going. They have no idea what is going on, or they do and don’t care.
Yellen jumped the shark when she joined the Biden administration. She knows better. But hey, she is old and wants a high paying job. She’ll say what they tell her to say even though it flies in the face of the irrefutable laws of economics.

Thank you, Brandon!
.
Let’s also thank the left-wing socialists and Newsom who enacted a higher minimum wage so that now low skill and brainless jobs can be made “careers”. Only an ignoramus would believe higher minimum wages would have no effect on inflation and the price of goods and services.
Such low standards for education, educational indoctrination, and welfare only results in perpetuating dependency and solidifying control to Democrats who are hell bent on turning the US into third world society.
.
And Washington state just extended health insurance to illegals. These illegals are not supposed to be here yet they are once again stealing American public resources…
.
Thank you-you’re admitting your racist undertones in every word you type. You have no clue how the economy works outside of what your dearly beloved animal network wants you to think. See this is a worldwide issue, energy prices were raised worldwide, Royal Dutch Shell reported record profits, the Saudi owned refinery in Texas (largest in the Us) and it’s 76 brands of gas it distributes under (including Shell) that raised the prices. And a hint-it has nothing to do with Biden and his leadership. Please do some research before spouting memes you saw on FB from your friend’s brother who shared a post his former MS girlfriends brother shared he saw from his uncle. You see the facts are right here in front of you, you can choose to ignore and listen to the noise or listen to the actual facts
@The Real Just Me
That’s quite a load of BS. Especially the part about “Biden and his leadership”. Talk about an oxymoron. You had better stop listening to your friends’ girlfriends’ brothers and don’t let them try and tell you that Biden is any kind of a leader, or that there are jumbo prawns or wireless cable.
I respectfully disagree. It has a lot to do with the Biden administration.
They purposefully shut off financing to the O & G companies by threatening the financial institutions with additional regulations. The O & G companies take the exploratory risk on their own balance sheet. They use bank financing to handle infrastructure costs to get proceeds to market. Without it, they don’t complete such projects. That creates supply constraints that raise consumer prices. Joe’s handlers caused that problem, and did it on purpose.
Jennifer Granholm warbles on about its a global market, and its Putin’s fault etc.
Absolute nonsense.

I was just commenting that Krispy Kremes tasted better when they were fried in lard. They were also a nickel apiece back then. My brother and I used to make a speed-run to Krispy Kreme between Church and Sunday School to pick up a few dozen at 60¢ per dozen.

It’s ridiculous! Why would anyone pay that much? Even at $1.50 it would be too much… that’s what my local donut shop charges for (Biden botched economy prices) simple donuts like those in the picture.
KKD is price gouging.

Inflation is awful, but Krispy Kreme charges by the dozen. $16.99 (plus). If you don’t order a dozen, you get charged the “per donut” price. $2.49 (plus). I found this out when I wanted 1/2 donuts one day, and I walked away with a dozen for a couple bucks more. Buyer beware.

Anyone that says prices of anything are high under Biden are Ultra MAGA trumpees that are a threat to our democracy. Biden said inflation is just transitory back in July 2021 and Putin is raising our gas prices.
A new gas station on Willow Pass gas is $3.29 a gallon, I think it is called Super Stop or Super Gas. I often go to Arco on Willow Pass, because the usually have the best prices, sometimes Valereo just a block from Arco is less, but usually more. However, yesterday Super Stop was the cheapest, I saved about $4.00 on an almost full tank.
Cheap gas isn’t good and good gas isn’t cheap. You will pay at the repair shop eventually. I work in refineries and I see the process in which different types of gas is refined.
Gas is gas. All gas retailers get gas from the same station and their additives are fairly the same in terms of performance and efficiency. Most of the words used by top gas stations are simply “marketing jargon.” You’re paying for the advertising, the same way you pay for any brand name product versus generic which will do the same for less money.
As a former Chevron employee (with Shell as our competitor) we knew the “Techron” you’re paying for could be bought and added to your car yourself while the general public was hoodwinked into thinking it was worth an extra $1.50 per gallon. I rarely used my “employee discount” because I was wise enough to buy my gas for a lot less money. The car runs very well.

Inflation is a permanent loss to us all. These prices are not going back to 2020 levels. Those clowns that voted for Biden should be tarred and feathered. “No mean tweets” voting by idiots did this.
It was unnecessary. They did it on purpose and with malice.
The financial set back to working tax paying citizens is difficult to gauge, and worse, it has really injured the seniors. They put their 30-35 years in, and their savings have been decimated. It’s criminal. And remember, a 25% loss in the market requires a gain of 33% to get back what was lost. Many Americans won’t live to see it.

The real conversation is that it’s not just inflation, it’s corporate greed & price gouging. All these corporations broke record profits at the Expense of customers and we allow them to do it.
If you feel that way, the best way to deal with it is to own the stock if they are publicly traded. Then exercise your vote as a shareholder, it can make a difference.
I have a friend who was quite upset with a sizable company back east so he assembled a large group of shareholders. They demanded the CEO be fired and the management board didn’t even blink; fired. They even got a board seat out of the deal That’s how you put an end to price gougers.
