Contra Costa Behavioral Health Services, a division of Contra Costa Health, invites any interested person to participate in a community forum as part of the Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) Community Program Planning Process.
Participants will learn about the MHSA.
They’ll discuss new project ideas and participate in small group break out discussions.

WHY: Contra Costa County’s MHSA budget provides over $60 million in support of more than 80 mental health and wellness programs. Forum goals include sharing resources, identifying service needs and providing input to inform future planning of the MHSA Three Year Program and Expenditure Plan.
The forum will include an overview of the MHSA in Contra Costa County.
Psychiatrists and therapists are refusing mental health services to individuals with Medicare and medi-cal, claiming that California law prevents them from collecting a co-payment from the patient. This is preventing many people from getting necessary treatment for their mental illness. This needs to change!
