The lights and decorations, the cool air, and the holiday ice rinks at Civic Park in downtown Walnut Creek, and The Veranda in Concord. I also miss seeing the holiday ice rink they had in downtown Martinez, and I wish that the City of Martinez would bring it back.

The ‘End of Dinner Party’, hosted by the Company my Hubby works for.
There is a wonderful and fun group of people he works with I enjoy gathering with.
Otherwise, it would be, getting to see our Daughter & her Hubby, but can’t this year.
Two women gossiping over the water cooler, now that’s funny. However, I’m sure there will be a certain amount of individuals who will be offended.
Now to the question, my favorite thing about the Christmas season is just about everything. It’s the one holiday that consumes the whole month of December, and at least half of November, with music, lights, decorations, good food, and cheerfulness. And, I always enjoy saying “Merry Christmas” to people when they least expect it. Like a cashier when they’ve been standing on their tired feet all day, it usually cheers them up.

The amazing smells: pines after a hard rain; a fragrant wreath on the front door; the rich smell of coffee early in the morning while turning on the Christmas lights; bayberry candles on the table, pies baking; a loaf of freshly baked sourdough rye; the aromas of golden brown turkey roasting, hot chocolate, you get the idea.

My answer is quite similar to @Dawg’s, everything pretty much is my favorite. From the kickoff at Halloween for decorated houses, through Thanksgiving, the Christmas music all day, the look on kids’ faces at all the splendor the holidays bring, culminating with the euphoric feeling when “Joy to the World” is sung in church.

Bah. Humbug!!!
.
Don’t like the cold, cloudy days, rainy days, and being unable to open windows. The only thing good about this time of year is professional football.
.
My Danish Christmas meal, a tradition my son in law is carrying on. Unfortunately I don’t think I will be able to visit my family in Pasadena this Holiday. Last year I was off on the 24th, and because the 23rd was the 3rd day I was working a 10 hours day, since I have a bad back and a lot of standing is not good for me, I was able to get my manager to remove me from the schedule on the 23rd, so it gave me 3 days off time enough to viist my daughter and family. This year I’m working on the 24th, but not on the 23rd, but I doubt I can get the 24th off.
other than spoiling the little ones??????
