We usually say “do you remember,” but this place is still open.

Chick’s, which has been open for decades, is still a great place for donuts.

This advertisement is from 1965. It highlights their new “workingman’s” breakfast, which we’re guessing is no longer available.

I love their Apple fritters.

The owner’s, when I was growing up, were Mr. and Mrs. Barriloux (sp?) until they retired and their son took over. I remember Mr. Barriloux would bring all the leftover donuts home almost everyday and give them out to the neighborhood. Good memories.

My Dad’s uncles and business partners always had the far back table for breakfast, with a couple of dozen donuts to go every week day.
