Thank you Claycord for reporting this.
We were able to watch it in the school gym and celebrate with the ladies

Way to go girls! So proud of you!

That is great news. I had to look it up and learned that division V is the strongest of the five divisions for girls volleyball. Thus, the Berean Christian Girls Volleyball team is the overall state champion this year.

Actually Division V is the “small school” division. Division 1 and “Open Division” is where the big school teams compete. But I streamed the match and it was iincredible—went 5 sets and the 5th set was a nail biter. Both teams were impressive, and outcome could have gone either way, but so thrilled four local ladies prevailed! (For a school of its size it is impressive how competitive Berean Christian is in many sports.)

California and Texas seem to be backwards from the rest of the nation. Conservatives already knew California is backwards but I’m not sure why Texas is also. For most of the USA, division 1 is for the the large schools or most competitive programs and division 5 is the smallest. California and Texas seem to do it the other way around with division 5 being for the most competitive programs and 1 for the least competitive programs. The division alignment changes from year to year based on your strength of schedule and win/loss record.

It’s possible California flip-flopped. https://www.cifstate.org/sports/girls_volleyball/brkts_2022/index lists seven divisions with the Open Division Bracket listed first followed by divisions 1 to 5 and then North Regional Division VI Bracket listed last implying it’s a strongest to weakest list. I’m unable to confirm that it’s strongest to weakest.

Either way from 1 to 5 to 5 to 1 the playoffs within a division tend to match up equal quality teams resulting in good matches or games.

And, either way, it’s fantastic that Berean Christian’s Girls Volleyball Team is the statewide champion this year for the division they were in.

Congratulations!!

Nice
