A person was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound near a house in Concord that appears to have intentionally been set on fire Thursday evening, police said.
Concord police and Contra Costa County Fire Protection District crews responded around 5:45 p.m. to a residential fire reported in the 3500 block of Euclid Avenue.
While extinguishing the fire, crews found the person dead nearby from a self-inflicted gunshot wound as well as a firearm, and investigators determined the fire was intentionally set by the person who died, according to police.
