Little Louie’s on Washington Ave. in Port Richmond. When I was working in Richmond, we would go there for lunch. Great sandwich’s made the way you like them.

Did the same at Little Louies for lunch, also grabbed a 16 oz to wash it down..then back to the Refinery

We Agree!

Brass Bear Deli in Alamo.
.
Order a hot pastrami with smoked gouda on a Dutch Crunch with mayonnaise, mustard, lettuce, tomato, and onion.

Danish open faced sandwiches. Copenhagen bakery in Burlingame use to have a good selection, owner from Denmark, learned the art of baking there. Ikea use to have a good open faced shrimp sandwich. Not sure if they still do, same for Copenhagen bakery. Other than that there a restaurant on the Sonoma coast (forgot the name) that serve a great crab salad sandwich.

I think the best sandwich I have had locally would be the regular burger from Eureka!, assuming a hamburger meets the criteria for “sandwich” in this query. If it does not meet those criteria, then I have no answer, as I do not really order sandwiches from eateries.

Parma on Clayton Rd .. hands down

Big H Deli in Cordelia.

There used to be a lunch place, right out the back gate of the Oakland Naval Supply Center that had a crab melt that was amazing.

I see the REAL best place has yet to be mentioned, and let’s keep it that way. Lines are long enough already 😎

Slow G’s in danville

Fenton’s in Oakland used to have “Real” Crab Sandwiches that were to die for, what they have now is a very poor imitation. So, Morucci’s Si Mangia Bene in Saranap district of W.C.

I haven’t bought a sandwich in years. For what I would be paying would pay for several days worth of groceries. I did eat a sandwich with friends last spring at Lucia’s Craft Sandwiches in Virginia Hills. It was a big sandwich and a half one would have sufficed. It was also very good.

Used to be Luigi’s but since the new owners came in you can see they are REALLY struggling to keep meats in the counter let alone anything else. The last 4 times I went in they had few customers, not like when the line was out the door & you knew you were getting the best sandwich in town.

Compagno’s Market & Deli
Prescott Ave in Monterey

Best sandwiches ever. Have won awards. If your in the area go get one or two and go down to the beach and enjoy.

Locally we like Jacks urban eats in the Orchard shopping center.

Geppetto’s Caffe in Orinda.

Togo’s, hands down.

Parma Deli on Clayton and Morucci’s in Walnut Creek. I’ve consistently gotten great sandwiches at both places.
