Trader Joe’s

none right now

I was heartbroken when Mexicali Rose in Oakland closed

I liked the Oakland Mexicali Rose, but I preferred going to the one on Alameda. The food was just as good, and parking was less of a problem. Now, I’d be delighted to get any decent Mexican Restaurant here.

El Tapatio. Family run for like 50 years …

hey Cowell….

I think you’re in the Nashville area???? My memory stinks….

If so, just this morning a radio news DJ out of a Sacramento Station was having a conversation and she said She could not find a decent taco in Nashville….

My mind popped straight to you and this post….

🙂

Yes, I am in the Nashville area, and in this part of the country, “authentic” Mexican is defined as anything drowning in queso.

heavy sigh

I would be sad, not devasted, if Lunardi’s
My Hubby, Costco …. LOL!

Lunardis cannot be beat! Their meat & fish counter is excellent and their beer aisle has literally hundreds of different unique and delicious beers. Their bakery and cheeses are fantastic. I appreciate it that they bring your groceries on to the belt, sack and load your grocery cart.

PG&E. As much as I don’t like the company, it’s the only one around, and I enjoy having electricity and gas in my home.

It’s being renamed to The French Toilet

None now, already happened. Nob Hill in Walnut Creek. That rocked it for me. My quiet place to go all those years. Ya, get over it, no choice.

.
Devastate? That’s an emotional response.
.
None.
.
Amazon is VERY convenient.

Exit, I like your point about the emotional response. Ya Amazon is certainly convenient. What I miss personally about that place mentioned like I said was the quiet but more than that, the “emotional” feeling of good I got from being there, them loading my groceries, never too crowded, taking my time away from personal worries, feeling special, not just an online experience or an instacart deal. Even the Nob Hill in Martinez doesn’t load them for me at the register and that’s a bummer. I miss that. I’ve learned in life quick nothing lasts.

If you can, go shopping at an off-peak time like Wednesday mornings and find your solace!

There’s no business like show busines
Like no business I know 🎶

It wouldn’t “devastate” me but I would sure miss a plate of ribs from Barney’s (brown sauce) even though it’s not quite up to snuff from the way it used to be.

We ate at Barneys last week and the ribs were very good. Good friendly service too. Red sauce instead of the brown gravy.

…none now – very disappointed at Scott’s WC and the real El Charro closing…. guess I would also be disappointed if Hickry Pit / Emil’s on Main st, WC closed …. but not devastated

Payless Batting Cages !

Hell ya where your wildest swings come true!

Wax Parlor and Skincare in (downtown) Walnut Creek!!!

The salon’s owners, who are twin sisters are AMAZING and SO SWEET!!

They are 2 of my best friends, and are also like sisters to me!!

It would have to be Amazon. I of them think about how convenient their delivery services have been over the past few years, especially during COVID. I I had Amazon when my kids were little, I would have ben ever-so-slightly more sane, as I really dislike grocery shopping and Target runs.

Now, it’s just more convenient to order via Amazon, for some beauty supplies, clothing, gifts, household basics, and I send my sons’vitamins to them all via the Big A.

Anything that supports our kids and gives them outlets that is not the street or sitting in front of a computer.

CYC
JOBL
PHBA

Country Waffles. Great folks there and good food.
AD

Pot of Gold Collectibles.

None that have gone out of business. But sad that at least one that used to be a favorite has gone downhill to the point it should just close up.

I was gutted when Sweet Tomatoes went under. The kids actually cried. Other than that, meh. Maybe Amazon because it has really been super insidious in the takeover of our lives. But, I could function.

Guitar Center! I know someday it probably will happen.

Homegoods…. would be so devastating😭
