Chick-fil-A Signs Lease, One Step Closer To Building First Concord Restaurant

If all goes as planned, this is the future home of Chick-fil-A in Concord. It’s where the old Claim Jumper was located on Diamond Blvd. in the Willows Shopping Center.

A lease has already been signed between Chick-fil-A and the property manager. The company only needs to go through the approval process with the City of Concord.

If constructed, this would be Chick-fil-A’s first restaurant in Concord.

We’ll keep you updated.

For some reason we’re thinking Fuddruckers would be good for lunch. Not sure why.

If Concord’s planners have any level of intelligence, whatever drive-thru capacity is proposed, it should be at least doubled.
.
And dont accept any design where parking stalls will be blocked by the drive-thru queue (like in Walnut Creek!!!). Who was the nimrod who approved that?

well Diamond Blvd. just became a mess. I guess that eliminates the other way to get to Home Depot.

I think that’s going to mess up the traffic on Diamond a lot. Just look at the Walnut Creek location.

I’m sure the City has a plan.

It’ll be fun to watch from afar.

Now we’ll have a choice between a great chicken sandwich, and a great burger!

LQQking forward to breathing fresh Benzene sport.

Now we’ll have a choice between a great chicken sandwich, and a great burger! Crackers for people worried about the drive-through lines, that lot is a lot bigger than the one in Walnut Creek so they will likely put a double drive-through with the extra pick up kiosk like they have in Fairfield.

Don’t mind the Coyotes.

Concord is going to hell in a hand basket.

yeah… because vacant buildings are better than occupied/leased buildings. Keep it vacant, like you want it and the homeless will eventually catch it of fire, sadly.

Terrible, terrible, terrible decision to approve a restaurant so popular that people will queue up a long line. Should only allow establishments that no one wants to patronize and generate no traffic so as to not inconvenient me on the couple of occasions each month I may need to get to HomeDepot.

This will be another reason not to go to the Willows or Veranda shopping centers. Traffic is already a nightmare. This will just make it worse. Why no on Willow Pass where the old Imperial Seafood restaurant used to be?

It would have been better off on Willow Pass Rd. Where the old Chinese buffet was.The landlord of the Willows lined the city council members pockets better. What a bunch of crooked people.

Well, this will make my Hubby happy, since he likes Chick-fil-A’s and it will be closer to home.
I’m happy it’s near Fuddruckers.
I can go get:
a salad,
or fries with a ton of spicy cheese sauce,
or a Blue Bunny milk shake.

Never was impressed with their food. Just another clog in traffice on Clayton. Sorry to say.

How will traffic on Clayton be affected?

Not a fan of their food, but definitely of the franchise. We’ll see what happens with traffic, but that kind of traffic means (usually) good business happening. Veranda is always crazy to find parking, and when I used to frequent, was always crowded with not just youngsters urinating their money away on over-priced fare (as youth have always done), but families enjoying that play area (fantastic). I expect we’ll see more traffic due to Chik, if it resembles that of the WC location, but unless I am going to Eureka!, probably won’t bother me much.

I’ve tried it once and was not impressed. I will give it one more try. I do like Popeyes chicken sandwich. As someone else said, I like their philosophy, but not their sandwich so far. And another vote for Fuddruckers, love their burgers and fries, not to mention their select a soda machine.

It’s already bad enough with traffic with the veranda. It’s going to be a lot worse now. Because you have people flooding over from the veranda and parking at the Willows that whole area every night and weekends is extremely packed . Now it’s going to be much much worse. don’t get me wrong chick fil a is awesome food but it’s just not the right area for it

I tried Chick-fil-A once and it was OK but maybe I ordered the wrong thing. So any suggestions of what to order and how to get it fixed.

How about ….. a Chick-fil-A and an In-and out at the vacant K-Mart location on Clayton Rd. Plenty of space.

Oh yes! I love this idea. I bet it’s to far away from the freeway for Chick-Fil-A to be interested.

Residential zones are like 15ft. away.

Residential zones are like 15ft. away.

How does the City Council have anything to do with what a landlord who owns a vacant anchor location in their mall (The Willows?) I never went to the City Council to rent a condo when I was in need! The property is already zoned, so I can’t figure how The City (uncertain it would be the City Council) would not approve a tenant moving in to a vacant spot.I mean, sales tax dollars are good… right?
