A Martinez man, identified as 36-year-old Aaron Sherman, has been arrested on arson charges after a pair of fires in Pleasant Hill, according to the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District.

On October 3, firefighters responded to two dumpster fires within the same time and proximity near the loading dock of Floor & Décor on Golf Club Rd. A large roll off style dumpster (12X35) was fully engulfed.

Additionally, near the 7-11 store, also on Golf Club Rd., a standard dumpster was also on fire.

No suspects were identified at the time of the fire.

Investigators obtained CCTV video from Floors & Décor (several angles) which caught a clear view of a suspect setting the fire and walking away, according to fire investigators.

The suspect was known to PHPD from previous contacts.

Working in conjunction with PHPD, fire investigators scoured the area that day and days to follow. On October 7, police observed the suspect about a half-mile away from the original fires.

Have fun in jail, dirtbag.

Like pedophiles, firebugs are incurable. Best to just get rid of them.

Incarceration may not help him but it would protect the community.

Don’t let him out DA – he’ll keep it up… hospitalize him or ……
