BART service will be reduced to single-track Sunday near the Pleasant Hill station, officials said.
BART is replacing concrete ties near the Pleasant Hill station which were damaged as part of the derailment on this portion of the track in June. The derailment happened after high temperatures caused a curve in the rail, according to BART officials.
BART has been operating trains at reduced speeds in this part of the system since the incident.
Passengers should expect delays of up to 20 minutes in both directions.
.
After billions in construxrion and millions every year for operation and maintenance, BART engineers cant even anticipate a little heat on the tracks.
.
And then this past week, power went out in the Transbay Tube.
.
PATHETIC!!!
How long have railroads existed? 150 years? And how long has hot weather existed?
And don’t tell me it’s “global warming.”
Incompetence.
