The following is from the Martinez Police Dept.:
Yesterday afternoon, a vigilant Martinez Police officer noticed a suspicious vehicle and decided to contact the subject.
After speaking with the subject who was determined to be the owner of the vehicle, narcotics and a loaded handgun were safely recovered from the vehicle and the subject was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility for booking.
Narcotics and guns are always a bad mix, and we’re glad to report this firearm was safely taken off the streets of Martinez.
I hope the officer profiled the individual and not just the looks of the vehicle.
Let’s get back to profiling people and get the crime back under some sort of control as before.
Good job officers.
Agree LAL,
I have no problem with profiling, it’s an important part of good police work. I’d love to know where in the vehicle this was found and how reasonable cause was established. Also, what about the vehicle made it suspicious? Were the drugs and weapon in plain sight? That gun retails for $1,000.00 and the serial number is clearly visible, did it turn up as stolen? As usual, always more questions than answers.
So many questions not addressed in this article.
Thank you Martinez PD officer for zeroing in on this one!
That’s a nice looking pistola.
Yeah, the cops don’t pick up too many Kimbers off of drug dealers.
Interesting 1 hollow point was chambered and all the remaining were not hollow points.
We don’t need guns coming in from other states. It should be put on a bus and sent back to Yonkers New York!
Is there a pistol adoption program? I’ll be right down if so.
Raffle that pistol off and give it a good home…
So the handgun wasn’t even necessarily illegally possessed? It doesn’t sound like the arrested had the handgun on his person, merely in the vehicle.
These cops want a pat on the back, but there are a lot of details left out of this story.
It is illegal to have a loaded handgun inside a vehicle, unless you have CCW.
You know what I find amusing … rich people can use any drug (legal pharma or illegal) without persecution … the poor go to jail for drug (medicine) use. Abuse is rampant in both groups … maybe more so by the wealthy, since they can afford the best stuff out there … and there is plenty thanks to the US Military who protected the industry in SWA for so many years. #iftheshoefits
Oh … and btw … the pharma industry made about 500 BILLION (usd) in revenue from worldwide drug sales. That is a conservative estimate. Prolly many more times that.
@JoJo,
It looks like you just answered your own question about why people aren’t allowed to procure their “medications” from alternate sources.
.. good job LE … but what is a suspicious vehicle? .
my MP works just fine…
but I wouldn’t mind having a Kimber Ultra Carry 1911!
@Bean Burner….You might rethink that if you read some reviews on it, that Kimber isn’t very ammo friendly. Granted it’s a nice looking pistol, I’ll stick to my old SW659, it eats up every ammo I feed it.
I don’t believe that Martinez PD will destroy that pistol, it’s too nice.
Nice Kimber. Just think, in free America, a loaded handgun in a car is no issue. Only in Communist California. I hope this person remembers that.
Any details on the “narcotics” that were found??? What kind, and how much!?
Everybody knows cops can stop you for any wrinkle, no matter how insignificant, in your appearance. Like a tail light out, or turn you took too wide or slow, windshield being dark, & etc. Plus, they can smell trouble and get lucky.
btw: the hollow point concerns me.
