Contra Costa COVID-19 Deaths, Case Numbers Going Down As Officials Adjust Response

By Tony Hicks –

Contra Costa County’s COVID-19 numbers are on the decline, with deaths, case numbers and presence of the virus in county wastewater declining in recent weeks.

No COVID-19 related deaths have been reported yet in September, down from 22 in August, according to the county’s COVID-19 data summary on the Contra Costa Health Services website.

Hospitalizations have hit a plateau, with a daily average of 61 patients countywide over the past two weeks, slightly up from 59 the two weeks prior.

County tests the past two weeks are turning up 6.82 percent positive. That number was 8.64 percent in the previous two weeks.

The wastewater concentration of COVID-19 in Contra Costa County is at about 0.00054 in the past two weeks, down from 0.00087 the previous two weeks.

Contra Costa Health Services officials told the county Board of Supervisors on Tuesday it’s adjusting its COVID-19 response, beginning Oct. 1, when it will stop testing at the Richmond Memorial Auditorium, though vaccinations will continue at the site. The county will also close its San Ramon testing site Oct. 1.

County health director Anna Roth said that though the public health emergency will likely be lifted in early 2023, her department anticipates new variants of COVID-19 and new vaccines to counter them. She said, at this point, the county health department has federal American Rescue Plan Act funds until June 2023.

“The dates are driven by the public health emergency and how it takes shape,” Roth said.

County health officer Dr. Ori Tzvieli told the board the county is administering the new booster, which is available eight weeks after someone got their last booster. He also said anyone who had COVID-19 as recently as this summer should still get boosted.

He said with the new vaccination, it doesn’t matter whether you previously had the Pfizer or Moderna shot.

“We recommend getting the one you can get first and get that extra measure of protection as soon as you can,” Tzvieli said.

Roth also detailed how busy her department was in 2021. She said in 2019, CCHS provided service to less than 25 percent of county residents. During the pandemic year of 2021, that number jumped to about 66 percent — about 700,000 people.

Compared to other U.S. counties on average, when scaled for size, CCHS efforts resulted in 1,700 fewer COVID-19 deaths, 71,000 fewer cases, 300,000 more tests given, and 390,000 more vaccinations. The county’s bilingual COVID-19 website had about 8.6 million pageviews.

“We did have one of the most effective responses in the nation.,” Roth said.

The county also eliminated the disparity between white and Latinx communities that existed at the beginning of the pandemic, and 75 percent of the disparity between the white and the African American community.

How can we trust any of these numbers?!? Who is confirming a death is from Covid and not a car accident victim who just happened to test positive for Covid.

If he had covid, coughed that caused him to run off the road…what did he die from?

The Health emergency may be lifted in 2023. These creeps don’t want to give it up.

“We did have one of the most effective responses in the nation” said Roth.
Wrong… the better responses were in states like FL and TX where they did not lockdown businesses and did not mandate masks or try to implement a dangerous, even deadly, vaccine mandate. They did not have people fired from jobs because they didn’t want to receive by force an experimental gene therapy. Roth idea of “ better” is the Marxist command and control, at any cost, “ never let a manufactured crisis go to waste” model, not a rational response centered on maintaining the civil liberty of people. We are never going to forget the comment from Mitchoff either where she said they needed to “take a hammer” to people who would not get vaccinated. What a disgrace, glad the “ lady” decided to get lost.

Discrimination still exists against unjabbed people who apply for jobs. Our unjabbed family member’s phone interviews go great until that issue comes up.

Fake statistics.

Thresholds and assumptions are not detailed.

I can make numbers lie all day by cherrypicking the data to suit the desired outcome.

So because of Roth’s hard work we saved lives and had one of the most effective responses in the nation! What a joke she is …

She should do some actual comparison, better yet, let an unbiased third party do them because I do not believe a word out of our health department with regards to COVID.

It’s a hoax!

Stop trying to make “latinx” a thing. It is not, and never will be, a thing. The instant an authority uses that term, I think everything else they said was probably also nonsense.

The county health people are is patting themselves on the backs despite the numbers at present being far worse than the numbers that triggered mass lockdowns in 2020 and 2021. What’s happening is that the county moved the goalposts, essentially to give governor Brown and President Biden a “win” that can be announced as the November elections are coming up.

Vaccination helps in keeping people out of the hospital and so I still recommend it and also recommend social distancing plus remaining outdoors as the best defenses against catching COVID-19. They are also excellent defenses against the the flu and common colds. As we approach winter I would take far more care with high contact surfaces such as public door handles and knobs. People cough and sneeze into their hands and then spread stuff around.

There is some good news in that catching the virus seems to provide some short term immunity. That’s why the case numbers are dropping. We peaked in early July with nearly 18% of the CC county population having COVID-19 that week. Efforts by health authorities, such as testing and vaccination, have next to zero impact on the case numbers.

CC County, and I suspect all counties in the USA, take a few weeks to process and report on COVID-19 deaths. Thus the statement “No COVID-19 related deaths have been reported yet in September, down from 22 in August,” would be expected as the deaths have not been processed yet. On August 14th the county was reporting zero deaths for August so far.

its over time to move on. Revenge is next.

The best thing to come out of the plandemic is that the flu no longer exists.

Magic.
