We had plans to take the five grandkids and their parents to Disneyland but because the Disney Corporation became “woke” we are not going there.
We can find something else.

I would do the same.

Yes.
Traveling to a beach resort in Southern California.
Will be meeting up with friends.

Been saving up since last year. Good to go.

Tentative plans to take a trip again along the coast heading towards Carmel in September before Summer ends, but with gas prices and just feeling more conservative all around, not sure. Will know if I want to take that step in a month or so. It would be good for me, but just not 100% yet.

@ Bella ~
I agree with Commonsensenor post ….check with post a bit down.

With the price of gas and inflation I’m lucky to vacation in Lodi. Thanks Joe !

Oh, Lawd!!!

Not for this year, have hopes for next year.

We just got back home from a small ship cruise in Southeast Alaska (Sitka to Petersburg). We are currently talking about taking a shorter vacation… maybe South Carolina or Georgia. Something on the coast where it isn’t so hot and humid.

And then a Fall trip to Vermont or Maine is something that has been on our bucket list for awhile, but that isn’t the summer is it. Being retired (and no longer having school-aged children) makes me looks at the seasons in a totally different way.

@chuckie the troll~
Sounds like so much fun!

I’d suggest everyone do whatever it takes to make your vacation plans happen this year. Because for the next few years, you’ll be excited if you just have food and electricity.

Commonsensenor….I Agree!

Visit San Francisco, where it rains anchovies!

Nope, not this year. It is our summer of concerts: Steely Dan, Chicago, AJR, Blue Oyster Cult, The Gypsy Kings….

@ Barbie Girl~
What a Great line-up of concerts!! 🙂

Kiddie pool full of ice cubes on my back patio.

If I feel like going away for a few days, I just go. No need to wait for Summer, anytime of the year will do. I don’t like heavy traffic, or crowds, so I usually stay away from tourist attractions. I love the serenity of Death Valley. It’s so vast, with historical sites, and some of the most beautiful scenery in the state. It’s so quiet, there are times when there is absolutely no one around for miles. When I go, it’s in November, when the temps will be in the high 70’s and low 80’s.

Just trips to Napa. Going to dine at French Laundry with my guy Gav. Of course, you peasants stay home during a pandemic but if you do go out where your masks. But me and my guy Gav. We are the elites. Rules don’t apply for us. Tootles.

Badger…..are you still riding on this? Move on for heaven sakes!!
Your post is SO OLD, and it sounds like you’re trying to get a laugh!
Move on to something brand new, such as: “The election was stolen”

@e.bunners
Are you kidding? That is never going to get old. Just like Toobin masturbating on a live CNN zoom call. These things will just NEVER go away…….and they shouldn’t.

*toodles

Yeah … gonna visit SaPa and Hanoi … Prolly take the long train … Vietnam has much to offer for summer adventure.

Never get off the boat.

@Dr Jellyfinger…..See what happened when Kurtz got off the boat.

I am contributing nothing to this topic, not going anywhere. Sorry for wasting your time…

Well Jeff, if it’s just a problem of picking a destination I’m sure everybody on Claycord can tell you where to go.

Thanks Dr. J, believe me, I am told where to go quite frequently, even at home…ha ha

Will be driving down to Pasadena the end of July, when my granddaughter turns 6, might visit a girlfriend in Santa Barbara on the way back. Other than that, probably a couple of mini vacations, Clear Lake, and hopefully a destination I have not visited before, Mt. Lassen or Mt. Shasta. Have seen Shasta when driving to Seattle on 5 but have not spend any time there.

Taking my kids to Kauai next week! Can’t wait, its our favorite place 🙂
