About 141 people are without power this morning off Arnold Drive in Martinez (see map) after a vehicle struck a power pole.

PG&E says the outage was “weather related,” but the picture from the Martinez Police shows that’s not the case.

It’s unclear when power will be restored.

The 1200-1300 block of Arnold Dr. is closed while the pole is being repaired.

Nice roads…good to see our gas tax dollars at work.

It’s called pole kink

Oh my…… How am I going to charge my electric car to get to work?

It may be partially weather related, but Word on the street is somebody driving a truck too fast hit a pole.

A good portion of Martinez was totally out this morning at around the same time (a little after 7am) (from Morello all the way into downtown)…so not sure if this was the cause of all of that or if that was weather related. Crazy how one pole could knock out the whole city, but this is PG&E

We had a power outage in our area of Concord on Saturday due to a downed power pole. No power from 6:30am to about 1:30pm. To PG&E’s credit, they had power restored about an hour earlier than we were told. It’s no fault of the utility company if someone is such a lousy driver they take out a power pole. What is concerning is talk of rolling blackouts.

Thank goodness those PGE power poles are less suicidal than water fire hydrants.

The outage included a much larger area than the map indicates…

Had a another outage for ~6 seconds earlier.

My lights flickered several times this morning and I was ready for the outage to hit. Nothing happened! I had power all day UN-interrupted.
