For the first time ever, the national average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gas is $5.04, according to AAA.

California’s average price is $6.43, and Contra Costa’s is $6.53.

In Alpine County, the average price is a miserable $7.79 a gallon.

The cheapest gas in the United States can be found in Georgia, at $4.46 a gallon.

Ladies and gentlemen,

I give you, the worst president since Carter. I hope you will see what similarities tie their administrations together and vote accordingly next time. Most of us knew this was coming.

serious question since I was barely born when Carter was in office: Did the media, etc, run cover for him as hard as they are doing with the current president?

At least Carter thought he was doing the right thing.
Joe and his motley crew make these destructive decisions on purpose and with malice. Then he goes on camera and lies about it, confident you are too stupid to know the difference.

Have you looked across the borders of the USA at gas prices?…….Not really a political issue, more of a corporate profit issue

Of course they won’t mention gas prices across the world, and Exxon (just one example) having doubled their 1st quarter profits to $5.48 BILLION. “It’s all Biden’s fault!”

How did Biden cause the price increases in the rest of the world?

@Doh
They’ll have no answer for you, but will continue to blame him and ignore the latest, record oil company profits in the Billions.

What USA borders?

The United States was energy independent and on day one, Biden killed it. Now, just who do you recommend be blamed for killing thousands of jobs and making this country beholden to others? The Easter Bunny? After all, that bunny does like whispering in Biden’s ear, so who knows? And so what if the oil companies are making a lot of money…..they’re the ones doing all the work. You must be one of those people who wants everything for free. Sad.

@ Cyn

Please explain what you mean by “energy independent” Do you think there is an oil price for the worldmarket and one one for the US?

I know it’s a great buzzword you picked up probably from FoxNews but it means absolutely nothing. Oil is a global commodity and if you limit supply by eliminating Russian oil and if demand increases because we are coming out of COVID of course price will go way up.

Do you really believe because it’s a domestic supply that these producers sell to the US at a discount if the rest of the world pays a premium price?

BTW we are on track to actually produce the most domestic oil this year in history.

Pat,
It’s about ‘supply and demand’(high school level basic economics). Also, check into who choked off supply. I’ll give you a hint: he did it pretty much on his first day in office.

@JWB
Sure, I’ll play for a second. To me, being energy independent means we do not have to import, and we were pumping enough oil that we could actually export to other countries. Now, this administration cut back on the U.S. production of oil and therefore, higher prices. They also introduced so much uncertainty with regard to fossil fuels, which also raised prices. Not sure why you’re talking about Russian oil…..this topic is only about energy independence. And if we’re on track for producing record amounts, why are the prices so high? Well, that’s it. I’m done playing. You’re the same troll that said Biden was busy fixing the economy that Trump drove into the ditch. Anyone that spews a lie like that has zero credibility in my book. Have a nice day. 🙂

Cyn well here are the number for daily domestic oil production in thousands of barrels per day:

Bush I 7,389
Clinton 6,368
Bush II 5,372
Obama 7,202
Trump 10,968
Biden 11,185

Now explain the cutting of domestic production again. The price of oil is driven by supply and demand if supply goes down (i.e. blocking oil from a major producer like Russia) and demand goes up (i.e. getting out of the COVID lockdown) prices go up.

As long as there is free trade it doesn’t matter whether we import or not. Energy independence is obviously not a bad thing in case others try to put tariffs on oil or refuse to sell oil, but that’s not the current situation.

Again why would you expect US producers to sell oil to the US market cheaper than what they could sell to the market outside the US?

BTW you don’t need to take my word for it you can easy google the current price of gas in Canada which is about USD 6.75 per gallon and you can check whether Canada is a net importer or exporter of oil. You will see that in 2019 Canada exported about 2.5 more oil than what it consumed.

So why do you think Canadians pay about the same price for gas as Americans? Maybe because Canadian oil producers sell oil to the Canadian market at the same price they sell it to the worldmarket?

When Bidon announced a war on oil the industry saw a chance to cash in. Had Bidon said nothing oil would be the same price it was a year and a half ago. Inflation would not be as bad as it is now. The world cannot afford Bidon

People must be filthy rich to not put up a fight. Instead they fight for abortion rights to kill babies because they are too lazy to use birth control methods or common sense..
God is watching in these end times.

I think it is intentional, bankrupt the public through whatever means possible and inflation is a powerful technique for that. They want us subservient and if possible the vast majority of us gone. The only solution is to fight back.

It’s a multi-faceted war against the American people. Stevie Wonder can see it. EVERYTHING HAPPENING RIGHT NOW IS DELIBERATE TO CRUSH YOU.

And y’all thought Mad Max was just a cheesey post-apocalyptic fantasy movie…

…and Newsom was supposed to get underneath the disparity of gas price gouging to Calif and specifically the Bay Area…. riiiiiight….and where are our $400 gas help checks? He could also temporarily suspend state gas tax till the end of the year like New York did… but nooooooooo

, I read that those checks were to be sent out next month (July). Of course people could have used them sooner but I guess they want us to bleed a bit more first.

California is too big to exist but I think the corporations love the power it exudes in DC.

I really hope those who voted for Biden don’t complain about the price of gas. Or food. Or the coming interest rate surge. Or the looming housing market crash. You asked for this by voting against Trump, so wallow in it.

+1

There are many people walking around and living their lives with no idea on what is really going on except for what they read on social media or watch on local or national news which is losing their audiences faster the Kamala’s staff. Oil affects so many industries from transportation, chemicals, fertilizers, lubricants and on and on. Wait another three to four months and let me know how the war on fossil fuels is going while trying to blame big oil for price gouging.

You can believe all of those Biden stickers on gas pumps and empty store shelves that say “I did that!”

Joe did that(and those that are pulling his puppet strings).

I would like to pass on this is just the beginning I live towards Eureka about 75 miles south in a small town diesel $7.90 a gallon

Several factors are converging to push gas prices higher

Global oil prices have been rising — unevenly, but sharply overall — since December. The price of international crude has roughly doubled in that time, with the U.S. benchmark rising nearly as much, closing Friday at more than $120 a barrel.

Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the resulting sanctions by the United States and its allies have contributed to the rise. Russia is a leading oil producer.

Americans typically drive more starting around Memorial Day, adding to the demand for gasoline.

We are fortunate that China is imposing significant lockdowns or demand would drive prices higher. With Biden making life difficult for US energy production, we can’t push the Saudis into a price war as we did in 2014. That would be an excellent way to bring prices down ASAP. But as an importer, the US no longer has teeth, and therefore no ability to compete or negotiate at all.

Doh,
Oil prices have been increasing since Jan 2021. On Jan. 4th 2021 oil was $49.93 per barrel. Feb 16th 2022 the price was over $88 per barrel. That is a 76% increase. Russia invaded Ukraine in late February 2022. What happened in Jan of 2021 that would cause oil prices to rise 76%? Hint: It wasn’t the Jan 6th protest.

Stop denying that the party of the green new deal and climate change has been doing everything they can to destroy the oil industry.

When Joe Biden was installed I bought Exxon stock. I am now up over 120% and collecting a fat dividend. Joe did that.

Long XOM.

And Energy Czar Jennifer Granholm finds all this terribly amusing. Laughing at the suggestion any action on her part could reduce oil prices, she tipped her hand. Obviously she feels the plan is working. Rather a sadistic display considering she has zero understanding of the energy industry.

Always look on the bright side of life 🎶

What do high costs of living, mass shooters, and idiotic politicians have in common?

They’re not surprising anymore…

I really don’t care what the national average price is for gas.

I only care about what I have to pay every time I fill up my car’s tank.

I don’t blame Biden, I blame Soros and the corrupt regime he’s created to destroy America.

I also blame the fools who blindly follow the Democratic agenda.

But please, tune in for the prime time January 6th hearings because if they remind you that orange man is bad, you might overlook how historically awful this administration has been when you vote.

Jennifer Granholm made a fetching appearance on the dating game some years back. Her modeling/acting career didn’t work out, so naturally a career in politics was her fallback plan.
