Police and fire crews responded Wednesday morning after a car slammed into a Martinez home and caused a gas leak.

The car, a gray sedan, veered off the road about 9:10 a.m. and crashed into a home in the 2000 block of Alhambra Avenue, Martinez police said on social media. The driver fled, leaving the vehicle lodged in a side wall of the home.

No injuries were reported, but the collision severed a PG&E gas line to the house and caused a leak, officials said.

When police arrived, they evacuated residents of the home and nearby structures.

Police were searching the area for the driver and the investigation is ongoing.

The gas line was shut off and fire crews, PG&E and city employees are at the scene.

Heck this is far more artistic than political messaging stunt of slathering paint on a street.

Stolen car, drunk as a skunk, Illegal, no license, or all four.

All four and then some…

Add to your list: has warrants out for his arrest.

concord ygnacio Yes indeed.

Why is he illegal? Happened at 9am all illegals are already working by 6 am lol. Probably a white tweeker

Ur right hahahaha
thats a good one bobbyG 👍

Don’t worry Diana Becton is out searching for the subject full force !

She suspects the hole on the wall gang

She just wants to make sure the driver gets all of the FREE medical attention they deserve. Which in my opinion they deserve none, but in hers, who knows.

+1 …and Becton will want to make sure he’s out in time so he doesn’t miss dinner

+1 Double Dzzz and all those of us that agree we are so screwed with Becton back in office. How about doing a recall on her as SF will not put up with the BS of their last DA. Cannot understand what is wrong with Contra Costa County.

To all of you that are or will become victims of crime you get what you vote for. I do not feel any sympathy for you.

😄

Looks like the car got stucco

Boo.

Hole in one

Couldn’t handle all that power.

“Relax, all right? My old man is a television repairman, he’s got this ultimate set of tools. I can fix it.”- Jeff Spicoli

“First, he’s gonna s***. Then he’s going to kill us.”- Jefferson’s Brother

The drive was probably a felon release by your newly re elected DA.

Or released by your soon to be re elected Gov.

Keep voting for the same people, nothing will change.

Is anyone else sick of this mess caused by no real leadership?
Covid shots gets more attention than stopping criminals from destruction.

13 comments with 4 blaming the politicians. Nope, this was caused by the driver who, amazingly, was able to crawl out of there andrun away. .

Doh, You have all the specific details. Please fill us in on them.
Or, could it be just your usual, regular and incessant trolling?

Cautiously Informed -You falsely accuse me of having specific details when I point out the obvious. The mentioned commenters blame politicians without knowing anything about the driver; not even their gender. Sorry my humor went over your head.

Probably a “teen” with no license in a stolen care. Took that turn too fast, skidded, and smashed that corner house at Alhambra and Soto. What a dick.

I’m sure our DA will get right on this and give the driver the maximum punishment, unless…..

Craigs List cars for sale: gently used, minor damage, can buff that right out. Great gas mileage, recently converted consumption to natural gas. All offers will be considered.

Good one Mike!

.
Property owners whose homes are located at street corners or “T” street intersections should consider installing large boulders along the front property lines to act as barriers against errant vehicles.
.
Large rocks/boulders become part of the natural landscape moreso than bollards, masonry walls, and the like. Relatively cheap too!

I got incredibly lucky one time when someone dumped an ENORMOUS eucalyptus trunk in front of my house when no one was home. It had to have weighed a ton. At first I was not very pleased, I didn’t know what I was going to have to do about it. Later in the day a person with not much to lose including any sense came to do donuts in the intersection a couple of houses down, then in making his grand exit he aimed the vehicle somewhat toward my street and sadly for the car, directly toward the giant trunk. It made one of the biggest giant kaWANGa noises I’ve ever heard. The soundwaves could be felt all through the house. The trunk hadn’t budged an inch. If it had not been exactly where it was deposited a couple of hours earlier, the next large object just fifteen feet away was the corner of my two story house. Barring an enormous eucalyptus trunk left by Divine providence, large boulders are an excellent way to keep the front (or side, or whatever face) of the home safe from destruction. They’re also very beautiful.

Don’t worry…Diana Becton will take care of the driver once arrested.

Maybe he was aiming for an imaginary fire hydrant.

If only they had called Car Shield.
They have a special program in California providing extended warranty on stolen cars. Its an equity thing.

Actually if you read the last line in the fine print on the Car Shield commercial it says “Not available in California…I always wonder why they would even air it here.

Reminds me of the days when I used to clerk at John’s Imported Liquer … one night me and the boss were watching Taxi on a tiny TV set on the counter … BOOM! … a kid no more than 14 plows through the front entrance … his eye as big as saucers … that was an event … 1985 … when Concord was a great place to live … now ??? … forget about it.
