As we first reported last Friday, Concord Vice-Mayor Laura Hoffmeister was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol in Clayton on May 26, according to police.
Police are now telling Claycord.com Hoffmeister was originally stopped for violating California Vehicle Code section 21651 (driving on wrong side of the roadway) on Pine Hollow Rd.
Hoffmeister was taken into custody for DUI and a blood test was administered to determine her blood alcohol content. Those results have not come back yet.
Hoffmeister is a lifelong Concord resident who was first elected to the council in 1997. She has been the Mayor of Concord six different times.
Just prior to Hoffmeister’s arrest on May 26, Clayton Police were called by a resident of a home on Tiffin Dr. They reported an unknown, drunk female was knocking on their door. They say she then drove away on Pine Hollow Rd. towards Concord. It’s currently unknown if that person was Hoffmeister, however, in the audio above, it appears police believe it was the same woman.

Just so I understand your logic- simply revoking her license will absolutely prevent her from getting behind the wheel just because….why? It’s against the law? Sorta like driving drunk is against the law and sure prevented this, right?

This DUI is is a blessing in disguise – a chance for her get on the right side of the street before she hurts herself or someone else.
I was willing to give her the benefit of doubt until I had more information. However, driving on the wrong side of the road is very serious and I’m pretty sure you would have to have had more than 1 or so glasses of wine to make that mistake, especially if you are from this area. She should receive the same treatment and punishment as anyone else would.

May I suggest that Laura spend a year at Diablo Valley Ranch getting the treatment she so desperately needs?

Pine Hollow can be tricky. Maybe she was channeling Lewis Hamilton or one of the other Formula 1 drivers and was taking the inside line on the curve.

I’m thinking she overstayed her welcome at her friend’s house and they called police on her? Or neighbors did just because she is a threat to others while driving. Either way she’s lucky and we are lucky she didn’t hit us head on for fatality. Look what happened at Antioch bridge just a few days ago. Death. Kids will traumatized the rest of their lives. Anyway, let’s see if city manager can muster up and fire her for her conduct.. Did this come up at Clayton Cc meeting last night? The plot will thicken if they find other drugs in her blood.

Concord City Council members voted to expand the number of canabis outlets in Concord which will unbdoubtably increase the number of impaired drivers. Given this I guess it shouldn’t be any surpise Hoffmiester is driving drunk – on the wrong side of the road.
Concord is firmly committed to incresing the number of impaired drivers on city streets, we know this because Concord city officials doubled the number of out store outlets in Concord, with more pot stores on the drawing board. The City of Concord is basically a co-owner of these pot stores because the city get’s 10% of the gross profits. Concord PD, I should mention, was also enthusiastic about city officials going into the drug dealing business.
I was watching Laura Ingraham the other day and she said the high potency pot on the market today is causing some young pot smoklers to develop severe psycosis. I think it was shameful for this Laura hoffmiester to driving around drunk, possibly endangering citizens. I also think it’shameful the City of Concord has gone into the pot business as well.

I’m surprised you focused on cannibis and that “it would to an incresing of impaired driving”. No where is pot involved in this. How come you didn’t focus on the vast number of restaurants and bars serving alcohol?
