QUESTION: Do you think any politician who is arrested and charged with a crime should step down from their position if they’re found guilty, even if the crime is a misdemeanor?

Of course they should! But what is very distressing it appears that if you’re a Democrat that there are no consequences for criminal action. It’s just excused away or we’re told there’s ‘nothing there’. I’ve lost all confidence in the judicial system. Each time I’ve been called for jury duty in the last 3 years they release me when they find out that I respect policemen. But they keep you if you hate police and love criminals. We’ve got it upside down system folks and you all are going to suffer from it sooner than later. You need to wake up from your stupid stupor

What we know is that the last 3 Presidential candidates had CLASSIFIED
documents at their homes. Hilary Clinton skated, Donald Trump was raided
and Joe Biden has been forgotten. The logical conclusion is there is an
obvious double standard at work here.
One kept them; the rest returned them when they discovered the documents were there.
Hilary didn’t “return” them-she smashed her hard drive.
The other 2 knew they were there.
I agree with you, however, Hilary was NEVER – not will she EVER – be POTUS. She’s not likeable, she’s dishonest, and she’s a criminal. Biden could give her a Presidential Pardon, but since she’ll never be convicted, she won’t need one.

Some people are indeed above the law, ever hear of diplomatic immunity? An accredited diplomat, and their deputies are immune from prosecution in the United States, and they cannot be compelled to give testimony in court.
Is this actually a question? I know this is starting to be refereed to as the stupid ages but come on… anything you or I can be persecuted for should not be any different for them. No dual systems of justice. As well as no perception of guilt until evidence is established. Just because we don’t like someone doesn’t mean they are guilty.

Four of the past ten governors of Illinois were convicted and sent to prison, three Democrats and one Republican. I suspect there were plenty of high-ranking politicians in other states who deserved the same.
At the present time I can’t think of one democrat politician who is not responsible for the madness that is going on in our country, but Joe is special, he is despicable, crooked as a dog’s hind leg. If he is never jailed it will be one large miscarriage of justice.

Doesn’t matter. Certain members of certain parties are immune to prosecution. I am not at the point where I would think committing certain misdemeanors would lead to resigning. I am at a position where certainly there are crimes, misdemeanors or not, that should result in vacating office.

Trump, Biden, and Hillary will never see the inside of a jail cell. All former presidents, and first ladies are entitled to lifetime protection from the Secret Service, and that would mean the Secret Service will have to serve time with them. I really don’t see that happening.

@Dawg – I always assumed there are people who work in the jails and would go home every day. They have rotating shifts so there’s 24×7 coverage. Secret service agents would do exactly the same thing. If someone like Trump gets locked up it likely would be at the Supermax facility in Colorado which is better set up to keep prisoners isolated from each other.

Politicians with ethics are as rare as hen’s teeth. I think Rand Paul, Ted Cruz, Tim Scott, or Kennedy would step down if convicted of a felony and probably a misdemeanor (depends on the crime). I have witnessed many a politician become extremely wealthy by their political position, which is suspicious to me. These folks are privacy to sensitive information and new ideas, and they take advantage of this by buying or selling ahead of the market and the general public. For us ordinary citizens, that’s called Insider Trading. For them, it’s the advantage of being in power of a nation of 350,000,000 people.
Now Joe Biden, and his son Hunter are a special breed of brazenly above the law. How anyone can place a demented, life long politician in the highest office in our land, and allow him to sell US out to China, Russia and all these little eastern European countries, with billions of our hard earned dollars going to the “Ukrainian war” (yeah, right) is beyond my comprehension. How is it that Biden (and his crackhead son) allowed to be in office? Why isn’t there a special investigation into their activities with foreign governments? I’m really ticked off at this differing standards: it’s okay for the Biden’s, but us ordinary citizens would be tossed in maximum security prison, charges with treason!
