The Bay Area Air Quality Management District’s board of directors on Wednesday voted to confirm an interim executive officer who will serve in the role for nine months while the board searches for a permanent head of the agency.

Sharon Landers will begin as the interim executive officer on Monday following the retirement of Jack Broadbent, who had been executive officer since 2004 at the air district, which regulates air quality in the nine-county Bay Area.

Landers’ most recent public sector job was as the city manager for Carson in Southern California. She stepped down from the post in March after nearly three years there.

The air district said in a press release that Landers “has extensive experience in government operations including transportation, sustainability and social equity as well as a background in public sector law.”

Landers’ annual base salary will be $324,000.

Social equity, maybe I missed it but where is the part where she knows about air quality?

A government position and that salary no wonder we are going broke.Way over paid and over powered.

Yet another waste of money by the Gavin Goons.

Based on search Landers must have considerable political clout. Her management style looks like she’ll be shaking things up. Will be interesting .

A BS degree in psychology/computer science and a JD. No environmental experience. Extensive experience in “social equity?” Wtf dies THAT mean and what does that have to do with air quality?

Just another useless POS bureaucrat that’s not worth the money. Do a search on her bullying and harassment in her last job.

Let’s see what Larson’s qualifications are according to CA standards.

She must be the first person to hold the position of some specific race.

She must be the first person to hold the position of some specific gender.

She must be the first person to hold the position who belongs to some specific and obscure religion.

She must be the first person to hold the position from some specific region of the world.

Thank you for the laugh! So true

Leaving Carson under a cloud of suspicion.

LOL, Larson is more than qualified to be the new interim air boss.

She should be elected to the job permanently.

Thanks for the photo, it looks like all of the correct ‘WOKE’ boxes have been checked.

BTW, I’m still looking for someone who agrees with this decision.

Except that is not a picture of Larson it’s a picture of Faye Moseley who was also terminated

Base salary of $324K? Benefits will add roughly $150K to that. I wonder what the office budget will be, so she can get her car(s), decorate her office(s), hire staff (family/friends), all to do very little. I guess that is what they mean by “extensive experience in government operations,” screwing over the taxpayer.

and she will retire after nine months with a huge golden handshake. Wonder what she got from her last job.

And the air board is NOT accountable to the taxpayers!

WTF??!!!?!?!
