UPDATE: Winds, Dry Conditions To Blow Fire Weather To The East Bay

Windy and dry conditions pose an increased risk of wildfires Thursday and Friday, according to the National Weather Service.

Forecasters say the fire danger will go up as strong winds engulf the Bay Area beginning Thursday, drying already arid land and dropping relative humidity to dangerously low levels.

The warning comes shortly after the service issued a wind advisory Wednesday for the North Bay’s interior mountains and East Bay hills in effect from 11 p.m. Thursday through 2 p.m. Friday.

The strongest winds are expected early Friday morning, with gusts reaching 40 miles per hour in southern Napa County and in Stockton and about 30 mph in most other areas of the region.

Humidity levels are expected to drop below 20 percent in most areas by Friday afternoon, except for along the coast where they will be about 30-40 percent.

OH MY GOSH!
.
Better raise taxes!!

Let’s put that all over the news so some nut gets the idea to set fires. Some things are better unsaid.

I believe it’s going to be a hot, windy and dry summer.

There’s nothing anyone can do about the weather, no matter what the grease ball says.

We’ve seen these kinds of summers before, it’s CA weather.

Is there a fire near the Pleasant Hill BART station?

The fires are a complete surprise to Newsom every year.

FYI some people in Walnut Creek are receiving huge homeowners insurance hikes (over 35%) if they are deemed to be in California fire zone 6. I know someone who received such a rate increase and yet there is a fire hydrant 100 feet from their home!
