It really is time to clear that encampment out enough is enough and eventually somebody is going to get hurt
Get rid of the freebees and they will go.
Anyone notice the new homeless encampment a few lots from the Police Station and the BART lot? That is very near houses to the east on Oakland Ave. A fire there could spread in to the neighborhood.
I believed it was cleared out on Wednesday after numerous complaints.
Cannot be tolerated.
agreed, but it seems it is….
… so again…. another drugged out wacko homeless person starting fires… when will we get too tired of this xxxx … it’s costing the city, county, etc. waaaaay too much to keep putting up with this xxxx
Concord, where families come first is now
Where squatters come first.
These people (baring those with serious issues) want all the benefits and freedoms without responsibility.
Concord accommodates them.
Stop enabling the homeless.
No free anything.
Prosecute crimes to the fullest.
No squatting on any property, public or private.
Without responsibility, there is no freedom.
“If You Give A Mouse A Cookie”
Does anyone know how much money is in Newson budget for the homeless problem…..
It is billions of OUR dollars, and still we have more and more homeless. Why ? Because the homeless know if you come to California the weather is good and we’ll give you free money and don’t have to do anything to get it. Oh. by the way both the Assembly and the Senate in Sacramento are controlled by the Democrats. ELECTION DAY IS COMING. VOTE THEM OUT.
All stores have to lock up bike tubes and patch kits all over concord. The homeless come in and steal everything all at once over and over again. And the cops do nothing…. Concord cops are getting super lazy on homeless while they mess with drivers.
Don’t blame the Police.
The Law prohibits prosecution of thefts of less than $945.
The DA doesn’t prosecute anyone.
Murderers and thieves walk among us and the Police protect us.
It’s the government that’s supposed to prosecute that does nothing.
Hahahahha I didn’t know about the locked up patch kits and bicycle stuff. It’s actually one of the reasons why cycling in this area isn’t so great. You have to mingle and share bike lanes with violent, crazy, drunken homeless people! Almost had hobos on bum-bikes hit me a few times.
The city Officials have there money there nice Cush jobs and nice homes they don’t care about Concord. And don’t forget about the power they have to make decisions on how our life is in Concord.Make sure you vote them out at the next election.
Something tells me there won’t be a full investigation on who started the fires because it falls under “homeless camp” … which is BS, they need to lock up this individual that started these fires.
Sure enough, wind is predicted and a fire is started. The homeless cannot be allowed to roam at will. Especially drug users. The city council is letting this happen. Where are the Eco nuts when you need them?
Until the city can be held responsible for damages or injuries created by the homeless sadly they just don’t care. Maybe we should start suing them to wake them up.
+1 Or, last year we found college professors were involved in arson. We have satellite footage. Every fire can be looked at with accuracy.
The right thing to do is find a hundred acre field, put up military tents, pick up every vagrant in the bay area and put them there. Give them treatment and feed them. Cheaper than what is going on now.
I rarely agree with you, Ricardoh, but you are 100% correct on this one. It will take more than 100 acres, though. And maybe some adult supervision.
I like the idea. Rather than 1 Bay Area camp it might be better to have a camp for each District. The District Supervisor could manage the camp by hiring good people to run it.
Great idea guys.
Put it right in YOUR neighborhood …. OK?
Nobody will mind….. We can lock them up with no due process of law!
E-Z Peasy
Kind of like the concentration camps of WWII.
This is what happens when you allow the homeless to become Community BBQ Organizers.
You want them gone take away their booze and drugs. Police can do it.
@S correct. But first and foremost I’m referring to the Homeless Encampment Fires, that triple is numbers and some are arson.
I know I’ve said it before but it bears repeating…..
fire after fire, after fire….. no wonder they’re homeless!
The city is in a state of paralysis when dealing with the feral human population
as they are afraid of lawsuits by some civil rights organization. So we’re supposed to get used to it as being normal. So far, no major structure fire has
happened to change that thinking. Not a good thing in a drought dried state.
Status quo prevails.
Nothing is going to change. The homeless problem and crime have to get a lot worse before the voters in California will wake up and stop voting for the same incompetent politicians over and over again. So, protect yourself and your family because we have scary times ahead.
I always refer to them as vagrants or transients because sometimes someone is homeless because they are in between places and still have a job. You usually don’t see them at the camps. I was at the farmers market in WC today and saw the sign-up and register to vote. One of the signs is for the current DA and the others saved me time in my research, so now I know who not to vote in office.
Cannot wait to leave. Move to Wyoming. God’s country.
Concord used to be a great place to live and work. I grew up in Concord back in the mid 1980s. Nobody in their right mind allows their kids to roam the city on their bicycles like our folks did. The city isn’t safe for kids or adults anymore. I used to hit the gym at night but now I’m concerned about my safety going out late. Something must be done to make the homeless go elsewhere otherwise the PEOPLE WHO PAY RENT, MORTGAGE AND TAXES will move elsewhere. Elected officials fix this.
