A vehicle struck a fire hydrant on Clayton Rd. near Thornwood Dr. (entrance to the Dianda Plaza shopping center) in Concord this morning.
No major injuries were reported.
This appeared to be a two-vehicle collision.

Instead of a White Whale, it’s a white Honda.
I can’t tell from the photos how the driver managed to hit the hydrant with the side of the car.
It’s a real head scratcher.
Trivia… At every fire hydrant, there is a blue reflector in the middle of the street. Its purpose is to alert the fire dept. to the location of the hydrant.
I’m sure someone has an answer to this question. How many gallons of water per minute is coming out of the broken hydrant?

Anybody here remember Foxy Squirrel’s comments on fire hydrants getting hit?
Foxy would explain, as a squirrel, about why she/he had to cross the road, and didn’t mean to cause the accident that knocked over the hydrant. Been a few imitators none as good.
