The Contra Costa District Attorney’s Office filed murder charges against a San Anselmo resident allegedly involved in a fatal hit and run crash in Richmond on March 21, 2022.

20-year-old Roman Gaelan Seabock faces one felony count of murder with an enhancement of an alleged use of a deadly weapon against 33-year-old Raul Morales Lopez, Jr. – which in this case was a 1997 Dodge van.

Lopez was walking his bicycle on a sidewalk on Hoffman Boulevard near Cutting Boulevard around 10 pm on March 21 when a van drove onto the sidewalk and ran over Lopez. Emergency responders pronounced Lopez dead at the scene.

Officers from the Richmond Police Department investigated the crash and collected evidence from the vehicle, video footage from security cameras, and witness statements. Seabock was arrested on April 13 in San Anselmo.

Twenty years old. Hope he reaches at least fifty before seeing daylight again. What a waste of two lives.

You are supposed to immediately stop and render assistance! That creep deserves life without any possibility, Man you are so lame.

DA who are you calling lame?

Well obviously not yourself. The guilty accused. The innocent until proven guilty. Very tragic circumstances for everyone.

Felony Murder? Does that mean an intentional act with the intent?
Or does the Hit & Run aspect make it so rather than vehicular manslaughter?

I know, right? Opposed to “Misdemeanor Murder”. Let’s just call it Murder.

Felony murder is the unlawful death that occured because or during a felony crime, which would normally not be murder, but is upgraded to that charge because you are responsible for what happens that otherwise wouldn’t have while you are commiting a felony.

Vehicular manslaughter ? Murder? Was the victim known to the driver, was it premeditated hit and run? Accident? The charge does not seem to fit the circumstances as they are described. It sounds like Diana might be up to her old tricks again of over charging young (white)? males and old grannies who can’t drive in roundabouts. Remember the “ hate crime” charges for the young couple in Martinez after that ridiculous BLM graffiti was painted on the street. Wow

The more cameras the better!

No, no, no, I like living in the USA and not the PRC.
