UPDATE: Concord Police Investigating Major Injury Collision

Concord Police are currently investigating what they are calling a “major injury” collision.

The collision occurred at Mohr Lane and Nuala Street, police said.

The accident caused a power outage and the street is currently closed.

There is no further information at this time.

UPDATE: This was a fatal collision. The victim was 18 years old.

Only 18 years old…so young n gone …my deepest sympthathy to his family. May he rest in peace. N now with the dear lord. So sad…

I live across the street from where the accident happened.The police, fire department worked hard to get him out of the car and providing emergency treatment for him. The did car for a bit of time, did not give up. They were excellent and I thank them for that.

I saw the police and fire department doing their best to help this young man. Response was fast. You could see they worked as a team, did CPR for a while trying to help. They did an excellent job. Thank you Contra Costa Fire and Concord Police.

Victim was a senior at Ygnacio Valley High School. A good kid. RIP

My high school senior remembers Abel fondly. RIP. To the family: Please ignore the ignorant comments. My child told me what a model citizen Abel was. I’m very sorry for your loss.

My wife teaches there. He is highly regarded.

YVHS had a memorial service outside school today. RIP Abel. 🥰
