Need to bring back open carry … then hide & watch.

Itd be nice if Livingston would get his thumb out of his a$$ and started approving some ccws to the law abiding citizens instead of letting these crooks get away with freely endangering lives

It is not Livingston uou have to go through Concord PD and they refuse to give anyone a CCW. Put pressure on Concord PD if you feel you should have a CCW

… no surprises here…. even if the perps are caught they’ll be out before the end of day

Yes, it IS the Wild West out there.

CCW’s will be back by summer with a SCPTUS decision, but I would expect a higher training standard, it’s reasonable.

Once again…”Concord, where families come first.” Great place to raise kids.

In a state that has the thought that Guns are bad, creates a situation whereas Guns are bad, because the only ones carrying guns are the bad. It’s a California thing. If open carry was more popular, bad people don’t feel so powerful anymore. BUT California only makes laws that “Law abiding” will follow, duh.. The others till carry.

WRONG!

Now, I became a gun owner the first day I legally could. Civilian firearms have a place in society. I support the right of financially responsible, sane citizens to own and carry most firearms.

Permissive carry laws, however, do not yield less violent crime. Those who aver otherwise posit baseless claims and spurious reasoning.

Indeed, states with permissive firearms laws generally record much higher murder rates (per 100k population) (Source: https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/pressroom/sosmap/homicide_mortality/homicide.htm)

Correlation does not equal causation.

Lamorinda Larry February 25, 2022 - 10:37 PM - 10:37 PM

@Glen223 – Precisely my point. There is no clear causal nexus between permissive gun laws and lower murder rates or restrictive gun laws and higher murder rates. It is likely that other factors — perhaps related to various policies, perhaps not — underlying the distribution of violent crime rates between states.

Indeed, the murder rates in California and Texas are roughly in the middle of the nationwide range. Both are vast, populous border states with diversified economies, sprawling cities and expansive agricultural and desert regions. Texas’ gun laws are among the most liberal and California’s among the most stringent. Yet there is not a significant difference in the probability of becoming a homicide victim. This is one issue where the data lends no support to either prevailing view on firearms regulation.
