It is likely that the prices won’t go down as time moves on as the situation matches up what the American Progressive movement wants. Another example of never letting a disaster pas without creating a department and revenue stream. The Russians invading the Ukraine will certainly have to count as a disaster.

The reasons CA has higher gasoline prices than the rest of the US:
1. Lack of west coast refineries due to left wing environmental regulations. Crude oil transported by pipelines basically has to pay a “toll” per barrel.
2. Cap and Trade of carbon emission credits. The cost of these credits (market-based) is passed on to motorists.
3. State-required carbon offset fee… about 19.1 cents per gallon.
4. State excise tax of 51.1 cents per gallon.
5. Federal excise tax of 18 cents per gallon.
6. Local sales tax of about 10 cents per gallon.
7. CA’s “special” summer gasoline blend for boutique gasoline.
Add it all up and CA motorists pay about $1.18 more per gallon than normal America.

While I agree that left wing environmentalist are a major cause of this, (just like they are the cause of our wildfire issue in the state, California ranks 3rd in the nation with 17 refineries. California’s refineries have a combined production of over two million barrels per calendar day. Even given that argument, how can you justify the Bay Area being one of the highest areas in the state (SF is consistently the highest) when Contra Costa County has refineries blanketing our waterways?
2. Cap and Trade of carbon emission credits. The cost of these credits (market-based) is passed on to motorists.

This could be addressed by the Governor!

How about from SOROS all the way down the feeding chain they are to blame but cannot accept the fact they caused this. Divert and blame everyone else.
