State Of California Launches Website For Public To Track Water Conditions

The California Department of Water Resources has launched a new website for the public to track local, regional and statewide water conditions.

The California Water Watch is available at cww.water.ca.gov/.

According to a department news release, the website brings together data from the department and other sources to provide dynamic real-time information on precipitation, temperature, reservoirs, snowpack, groundwater, streamflow, soil moisture and vegetation conditions.

Visitors can enter an address to see local conditions and links to water supplier information. The website also allows users to compare data on local conditions by year and by region.

“The variability of California’s climate and current water conditions we are experiencing now make this data more important than ever,” said Karla Nemeth, department director. “Climate whiplash is our new reality living in this State, and we are innovating and developing new tools like California Water Watch to provide water managers, researchers, and policymakers with the data necessary to make better informed decisions about our limited water supply.”

The website was developed in response to Gov. Newsom’s call for a California version of the U.S. Drought Monitor website in his drought state of emergency proclamation.

Will it let us know when they release millions of gallons of water from dams (in the middle of the summer)?

That’ll solve the drought problems!

Who needs more water storage when you can track it?

New website is disappointing, lack of detailed information and stats.
Came across this number of years ago, hope it helps.

I wish they do more to track the criminals and keep us safe from them! They are a lot more of a concern my family than water. (Which is some of the best in the world already)

So they consolidated a bunch of existing data and say they are being innovative in our new reality of Climate Whiplash. Pay yourself on the back, LOL.

I did a motorcycle ride past Briones and San Pablo Reservoirs last week.
Both are FULL TO THE TREE LINE!! Plenty of H2O for quite a while.

Since water is a social problem they should spend the money for social give aways on turning some of the Pacific Ocean into drinking water instead of waiting until our tongues are hanging out. For people all wrapped up in climate change they don’t seem to be acting like it.

.. how about a website that tracks the amount of our tax $$ that Newsom’s wastes on his pet projects that could be be used for our benefit? like reservoirs, rain retention efforts, etc. instead of the billions going to the high speed rail to nowhere

Randy +

How about leaving us alone and stop the babysitting BS that the Democrats love to do because they can’t run the country and think everyone who is not a Democrat is as stupid as they are?????

Start policing your own kind before you start in on us. Enough!

Tsa February 22, 2022 - 12:22 PM - 12:22 PM

Look outside, no rain, turn on sprinklers.

Pookie February 22, 2022 - 1:14 PM - 1:14 PM

Anything with the Dems/Newsom’s blessing attached is pure BS. Take that to the bank..

The Fearless Spectator February 22, 2022 - 1:50 PM - 1:50 PM

Yes. The purpose of their website is to battle “disinformation” (Any opinion not matching their own) with their own manufactured disinformation.

Science? Nowhere to be found.

Clown Newsom was a WEF “Young Leader” and Pelosi is also a member of the board. Al Gore too! Guess who else, Trudeau! Etc, etc, etc.
All these liberal idiots are involved in the World Economic Forum. The stupid policies coming out of state gov are literally written by the forum. It is unclear if the Georgia Guidestones were WEF but they mention a population of 500 million worldwide living in perpetual harmony with nature. This goal will require a large scale depopulation. Just in time we have the new experimental gene therapies mandated! Fortunately most large countries outside of US and EU UK and Aus have rejected the WEF. I guess it’s just a matter of time here before we wise up and eliminate the Democrat party.

Randy February 22, 2022 - 4:13 PM - 4:13 PM

.. won’t happen in commieCali

Old Otis February 22, 2022 - 2:48 PM - 2:48 PM
