A man was carjacked on Clayton Road in Concord this morning.
The crime occurred at about 10:40 a.m. when the suspect, described as a black male adult in his 20s, pointed a gun at the owner of the vehicle and told him to get out of the car.
The silver Kia Soul was last seen turning right onto Clayton Rd. from the Clayton Gardens apartments parking lot, just east of Cape Cod Way, according to police.
The license plate of the vehicle starts with “7RBT,” police said.
No injuries were reported.
Anyone with information should contact the Concord Police Dept.

He didn’t have a mask so he couldn’t get on the bus, his phone was dead so he couldn’t get Uber or Lyft, may have been looking for a Yellow Cab (don’t remember seeing one of those in awhile) or maybe going to try hitchhiking but he was afraid of getting robbed. What’s a person supposed to do.
All kidding aside I hope the police find him and I hope the victim will be OK.

Channel 7 News did the story this week about a man that crashed a car he stole, while prowling the narrow streets of exclusive Hillsborough at 2:00 a.m. The police did catch him but he was let go right away because of covid concerns at the jail (Newsom’s thing). A few hours later he went out and murdered two people!
We’ve gotten to the ‘social justice’ point that we worry more about a criminal catching covid than we are innocent citizens lives and property.

I am all for the prison industrial complex if it houses these individuals and keeps them away from the rest of society. We have no other way to punish them. Whatever programs sociology majors have been shilling haven’t worked. We can dream of a future when we can use corporal punishment, but until then, they have to be placed in jail and kept there for their full sentence. Catch-and-release is not justice.
A smart Republican politician is going to win votes if he or she promises more prisons and holds the guilty in the prisons for the full duration of their sentence. A Democrat wouldn’t even dare make such a promise, lest the social justice warriors in the party rise up against that candidate.

Sam, it’s awful that the state with the worst stories of armed criminals (highway shootouts, anyone?) has some of the most restrictive laws. I do not own any guns, but I support the Second Amendment and your right to carry.
You see the idiocy of the lawmakers when you look for “less-than-lethal” self-defense weapons. You can’t buy knives in California that you can buy in other states. I was trying to buy a pellet projectile gun, and California prohibits any pellet with chemical substances other than some inert talc or flour. They want people to shoot to annoy, I guess. It’s crazy. I’m trying not to lethally harm an assailant, and California hamstrings the good intentions.
