Concord police on Wednesday arrested the person they believe fatally stabbed a 31-year-old man during an altercation last Saturday.

Officers were called to the 3000 block of Bennett Way at 6:30 p.m. Saturday about an altercation inside a home. The suspect was already gone, and the victim, identified as Thomas Arellano of Concord, was transported to a hospital where he died from multiple stab wounds.

Police said Thursday that they took the suspect into custody without incident in Lafayette with the help of the FBI Safe Streets Task Force. The suspect’s name has not been released.

Anyone with information regarding the stabbing can contact Detective Christopher Loercher with the Concord police major crime unit at (925) 603-5922.

… sad it happened but good job LE! 🙂

Good job CPD.
They always find their criminal.

Are you being sarcastic? They are awful at that lol.

BN,

CPD does some fine work, my buddy Det. Mahan is #1, of course trained at LAPD. I’m heading to court for sentencing of a suspect Mahan arrested, in twenty minutes.

I’ll wait to see if he’s remanded or gets bail, and if so how much?

I think the suspects name is Jerry Delgado. I don’t understand why they keep suspects name a secret. Maybe someone can explain why.

Yes it was Jerry Delgado you can see his mug shot on mobile patrol under Gerald Delgado

“FBI Safe Streets Task Force”. Is this something new? Have they done anything else? Are they profilers?

I was thinking the same thing. First time I have ever heard of it! Who are they and why are the a “Street Task Force”?

They help out local law enforcement on high risk suspects.

Wondering if that was the guy the FBI removed from his car at gunpoint yesterday at the marina parking lot?!

Lafayette has a marina?

Maybe at the Reservoir, at the pedal boat marina.😀😀😀

So the suspect went back to his comfortable bubble of Lafayette? Was he sipping white wine when he was arrested? His expensive Lafayette lawyers will get him out.

@Tod – The only self-proclaimed “white wine expert” I’ve ever met is a dude who was born, raised and still lives in Walnut Creek. Easy pickin’s for hooligans, that guy…

Doubt you could handle the single malts we swig up in these hills. I’ll buy ya a bottle of cask strength Laphroaig if you can drink the entire
fifth neat, without puking or passing out on my deck.

You’re right about the expensive lawyer part: l’ll gonna charge you a mint to appear at your arraignment if you get out of hand and try to get fresh with one of the neighbors’ underage daughter though.

Can’t handle it? Just enjoy your natty ice and methhead neighbors.

\Probably at his mommy’s house.

– Touche Mr. P, touche. White trash is everywhere, even in Lamorinda.

@Tod….So are alcoholics…I’m not naming names, alcohol doesn’t recognize city limits.

– Indeed, indeed…

The FBI Safe Streets Task Force gets involved when a local law enforcement agency needs to deal with someone that’s a member of one of the more violent criminal gangs.
