California will restore an indoor mask mandate this week in the wake of a recent increase in COVID-19 cases, one of the state’s top health officials said Monday.
State Health and Human Services Secretary Dr. Mark Ghaly said the state will reimplement an indoor mask requirement, regardless of vaccination status, from Wednesday to Jan. 15.
The state will also require people who attend events with more than 1,000 attendees to provide proof of full vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test from within 24 to 48 hours of the event. Previously, a negative test had to be taken within 72 hours of a large event.
Ghaly said that the recent rise of the omicron variant of the virus and a 47 percent increase in cases statewide since Thanksgiving has led to concern over a possible surge in cases similar to last winter’s surge.
“We know that we are entering into a pretty hard time and we are starting to see some of these numbers go up in some communities pretty quickly,” Ghaly said.

All imports whether it be a plane or a boat will require self-quarantine for 40 days at an island (or anchored offshore) off the main land before they’re allowed to touch the mainland USA.
Of course this would disrupt supply chains, but we need to move manufacturing back to the US anyway, and business will suffer (those that manufacture outside the US) for a short period until they reopen manufacturing in the US.

That is 100% false. They clearly stated that Covid Deaths were NOT listed as the cause of death if they died from something else even if they had it. Some hospitals did cause it was easier but most of those numbers have been corrected. Covid was as a secondary. Not the primary cause. So on the death certificate it would say the main cause with having Covid as a secondary. Just like when someone dies after being shot. The bullet didn’t kill that person. Internal bleeding did. Bullet had a contributing factor.

I have been required to take the PCR test once a week in lieu of vaccination in order to remain employed. It comes back negative every time. I am healthy, and cannot recall the last time I had so much as a cold. Most of the masks donned by the majority of the populace are ridiculously useless against micro and nano organisms. It might provide some slight benefit in keeping out gross droplets if someone coughs or sneezes on you.

A wealthy church (or non profit) could provide the space. I’ve gone maskless at Safeway in Walnut Creek off of Ygnacio multiple times, and once at Target in WC with no one confronting me. It just depends on the place and who is working that day I’m guessing. My boyfriend and I are definitely the only ones we see maskless and get lots of dirty looks. It’s worth it though to breathe freely and hopefully inspire other people to be brave and take off the ridiculous muzzle.

I would suggest just running into the store and taking what you want without paying, because those people are not required to wear a mask. Over here in our free state, some people wear a mask and other people don’t. That system seems to work. And while many national chains require their employees to wear a face pad, compliance is spotty. We have a worker shortage, businesses are offering signing bonuses and other incentives so if you mess with the employees they will simply walk out. And that is what we did to Kleptofornica!
I just went into a local mom and pop 7/12 type store and they don’t even have a sign on door to wear a mask and never have, the 4 workers inside weren’t wearing masks either. This is who I give my business to.
HD and Lowes I have never worn a mask in there since all this started.
2 different airports in last 2 weeks I had no mask on (I was going to since I wanted no problem getting on my flight but I actually just forgot to) even going thru TSA checkpoint. No one said a word and didn’t have it in once seated.
Antler’s Tavern in Pinol has been contacted regarding not demanding the passports.
I can’t help but wonder who could possibly want to complain about that wonderful establishment.
It has such a majestic name and is frequented by wonderful people.
This is stupid. I’m currenlty in a meeting and not wearing a mask because the over reach is real. I have some crazy lefties on my team and they agree that the mask requirment is excessive.
While I hate CA’s govt…and I am pushing to leave (it takes time, so I have to grit and bear it for a while), this was a suprising silver lining.
