Stadium Pub, located at 1420 Lincoln Ave. in Walnut Creek, was forced to close on November 22 due to a cockroach infestation, according to the Contra Costa County Department of Environmental Health.

Health Inspectors say they found the following during their inspection:

  • 4 – 5 cockroaches on a sticky trap underneath the prep refrigerator (unable to confirm if dead or alive)
  • 2 live adult cockroaches on the electrical wiring next to the prep refrigerator and sticky trap
  • 3 – 5 live adult and young cockroaches next to the water boiler; unable to confirm if the adult has an egg sack
  • 2 dead nymph cockroaches next to the water boiler
  • 1 live cockroach on top of an electrical unit underneath the bar cash register

Stadium Pub has since been re-inspected and reopened.

Hmm. No wonder the french fries oddly tasted “nutty”!

Wondering why these types of articles need to be so detailed. All we really need is the first and last sentence.

The Chiefs fan in me wants sooooo bad to drop a Raiders comparison to Roaches in here, but I will resist

Maybe 6 found alive and you close the place down? Seems a bit harsh, can’t they work with the business to remediate and remain open.

Thank you so much for your support. I asked the same question. I’ve had a pest company for the last 27 years, but I didn’t feel like they were doing the best job. I had hired a new company only a few days before the inspector arrived, which I demonstrated to him. He dismissed that, didn’t give me the opportunity to voluntarily close until the new service arrived, and gave me a closure. I haven’t slept simce..According to my new pest company, we don’t have an “infestation”. I trust that word “infestation” is part of their code, but iI believe it’s completely unfair.. Restaurants around me have have repeatedly been cited for all kinds of awful things, rats included, I’ve been in business for 28 years, and i’ve never, ever, had this happen..
I so appreciate your kindness, thank you very much and best to you.

EVERY restaurant has roaches, at some point. I eat at the PUB twice a week.

I wouldn’t know about all that. I now dine in Solano County.

Maybe they were getting ready for the annual Roach Derby.

As long as employees wash hands
