Who remembers C.C. Ole’s?
This restaurant was around for years on Clayton Rd., in between IHOP and the fire station, before it closed in the early 2000s. Since then, several other restaurants have occupied the space, but none have been as popular as C.C. Ole’s was.
Thanks to “Gittyup” for sharing this great item from 1992 with all of us.

Loved their seafood enchiladas!
Yes!
Yes I did!
I do remember!
CC Ole’s was probably my favorite restaurant in Concord. I loved Mr. Pickwick’s, but it never replaced CC Ole’s in my heart.
I agree!
Today’s Water Cooler question is, what’s your favorite restaurant. Well, C.C. Ole’s might only be a memory now, but it would have been the definitive answer.
It use to be one of the better Mexican Restaurants in the area and had a great bar scene. Was sorry to see it close down.
+1 …. them and El Papagaillo in WC at YVR & Oak Grove
@randy, we used to go El Papagallo (in the Encina Grande Shopping Center) all the time. Loved their food!
I spent a good deal of time in El Papagallo myself back in the 80’s.
We loved C.C. Ole’s! It was our favorite Mexican
restaurant. Great food! Great service! Lots of fun.
We were sad to see it close.
We’re happy to see that El Charro will reopen in
Walnut Creek. Another one of our favorites that
we thought we had lost.
…. on El Charro – an interview with the new owner he said he was going to “modernize” the menu 🙁 whatever that means…
Chile Relleno, shot of Cuervo and a Dos Equis back. Good times.
Many Good Meals there …😃
Oh, we really enjoyed it too!
Convenient too as we lived in Clayton valley.
I also miss, to be honest the El torito on diamond boulevard. That place was awesome in its heyday. Then it just began to go downhill.
Best authentic sopapilla around. With butter and honey…. Yum
Was waiting to see someone talk about those.
Ive never had a better one than at CC Oles, many many years and different restaurants ive tried them at, no where could compare to CC Oles.
We ate there a day or two before they closed.
Is Mona Lisa’s there now?
No, it’s a desolate scene in that parking lot. The restaurant (Central American?) where CC Ole was is closed. And Mona’s closed as well.
(Guess we might just have to line up at the fire house’s back door and chant for the cook!)
Epic food and drinks … pull tabs! Learned how to drink hard here in my high school days … back when fake IDs were a thing. So much fun times were had here. Thanks for the post and scratching and old memory. They had had really great food. But over the hill New Mecca was my No. 1 I have to admit.
It was the best Mexican Restaurant in its day. Loved their seafood creations. Especially their Seafood Tostada with a pitcher of Margaritas. Had lively bachelors celebration there.
My favorite Concord restaurant of all time. Handmade tortillas by an old lady, great bar, authentic food, friendly staff, an arcade, and even a clown making baloon animals. I miss this place. Unfortunatey i heard a rumor by a former employee that they were selling cocaine out the back door. Lol
@Mark the Shark….I’ll clue you into something about those days (and decades before) about restaurants/bars. Lots of cocaine went in and out the back doors of many places like C.C. O’le’s, the restaurant business is a easy way to launder money. Some owner’s knowingly did this and some workers just making a little extra on the side. Contra Costa history is pretty colorful that way.
we got our coke at Carlos Muphys and Abernathys back in the day.
Oh! but that NEVER happens anymore….
We didn’t go out to eat much, and still don’t, but when Friends came into town, C.C. O’le’s was our gathering place for dinner.
This was a great place to eat so sorry it’s gone like so many other great place’s
Help stamp out gringo food.
Attended many retirement and birthday parties there as well as work lunches.
Cc’s was a great place. One of the owners went to work at Chevy’s but then that Chevy’s closed also.
Great place and great times.
i do i do
What everyone said above. Also, the seafood burrito was scrumptious!
