It’s media like this that causes panic buying and hoarding.If you go to an upper class store like Diablo Foods there is no shortage.The produce ,groceries and the meat department are ver well stocked.

Anew November 11, 2021 - 7:12 AM - 7:12 AM

Speaking of the upper class, Kamala Harris tried to communicate with the French by addressing them in Pepe Le Pew’s accent: https://bit.ly/3D9NhSC

Thanks to Joe Biden for paying the unemployed to stay unemployed, and closing another pipeline. We can continue to buy our oil from OPEC as the price of fuel skyrockets, driving the price of everything to an all-time high.
Trump 2024

Chuq November 10, 2021 - 3:24 PM - 3:24 PM

And I guess thanks to Donald Trump for conning people into doing anything they can to prolong the pandemic.

Hanne Jeppesen November 10, 2021 - 4:29 PM - 4:29 PM

The unemployment started under Trump, and ended a couple of months ago. Not sure about other businesses, but at my work place several people that were close to retirement didn’t come back, others that was working a second job didn’t come back either.

Sorry Chug: It’s the Democrats that have wanted to prolong the pandemic! Trump was wanting things to stay open and for the economy to keep moving. He was criticized for that and possibly lost the election over that. I fear that Biden’s going to keep us locked down for another year!
Inflation and bad economy are totally the result of the Democrats & Biden. And it’s going to get quite a bit worse!
Things were *better*with Trump!

PESFG November 10, 2021 - 6:13 PM - 6:13 PM

And Newscum for sending relief checks to anyone, except, EXCEPT for those on disability.

Cyn November 10, 2021 - 7:18 PM - 7:18 PM

@Chuq
Guess again.

Move on already November 10, 2021 - 9:00 PM - 9:00 PM

Can any of you get through a single day of your lives without mentioning Trump? I mean is it even possible? He just lives in your brain rent-free 24/7. It’s pathetic. It’s becoming TDS on steroids at this point. People wanted him cancelled off of social media. You wanted him out of the White House. You got your wish and you still can’t stop talking about him. He consumes you.

Time to get a new schtick already.

You November 12, 2021 - 1:43 AM - 1:43 AM

@badge1104

Are you drunk? Where do you get that from? If I’m not mistaken. Under Trump we were closed more then half the year. Under Biden we were open pretty much the whole time. And was already stated that there would be no locked down. Trump was never criticized for that. He was criticized for lying to the public about what this was. Holding rallies with no masks and killing thousands. Big difference. He was a liar and a terrible president. He rode the coattail of Obama. He was handed one of the best economies possible and ran it into the ground.

Sam November 10, 2021 - 3:04 PM - 3:04 PM

Everyone who voted for biden is responsible for this. I don’t care how your broken brains try to justify it. This communist administration can is incapable of running the country.

You November 10, 2021 - 7:26 PM - 7:26 PM

You really think that? Who did it start under? What happen to all the jobs? Oh ya, Thanks trump

Cyn November 10, 2021 - 9:17 PM - 9:17 PM

@You
Are you for real?

Dr Jellyfinger November 10, 2021 - 9:39 PM - 9:39 PM

@ You
Jobs? What …..do you think Trump shut down the economy?
I seem to recall something about states rights and those decisions being their own.

You November 12, 2021 - 1:46 AM - 1:46 AM

@Cyn

Yes. And it’s true.

@Dr Jellyfinger

You do remember that he shutdown the US with his orders. After months of that. Then he resended those orders and the States became involved. So yes. This started with him

Original G November 10, 2021 - 3:06 PM - 3:06 PM

There are consequences to often ignored when voting, such as history.
As well as actions, not thought all the way thru as to negative effects, taken by unelected bureaucrats answerable to virtually no one.

” “We are showing the world that we can move goods, grow our economy and finally dump dirty diesel,” Jared Blumenfeld, California’s Secretary for Environmental Protection, sneered.
Jared and California certainly showed the world something.
While the ultimate truck ban was scheduled for 2045, an initial phase-in of 5% to 9% begins in 2024. Last year, California’s DMV began refusing to register thousands of trucks with an estimated 100,000 trucks under threat.
https://tinyurl.com/4kwk332j
Piece gives details and history of government intervention

“California promulgated a diesel engine rule that took out of service some $20 billion dollars of diesel equipment, including trucks, farm and construction equipment, by way of air quality rule that was steeped in academic and regulatory corruption. The rule required multiple replacements and modifications of engines that were too expensive for most owner operators, and mom and pop companies, to comply with.
Most of this equipment has never been replaced.

Where is the wisdom in taking actions described above, in midst of chaos already created by covid and numerous knee jerk actions taken in CA in response to covid???

Captain Bebops November 10, 2021 - 3:49 PM - 3:49 PM

The wisdom? Maybe to make California the Venezuela of North America. That’s what it seems. Of course everyone wants to see pollution reduced but seems that nobody thinks through the consequences of policies voted into place. Plus the majority of the populace aren’t “political wonks” and don’t want to worry 24/7 over such issues. So when election days come they just vote for what sounds good …. at the moment.

“May” find? You sure?

Cyn November 10, 2021 - 10:19 PM - 10:19 PM

“May” should be replaced with “will definitely”.

Anonymous November 10, 2021 - 3:22 PM - 3:22 PM

I don’t know a lot of people on the hourly production side, but the handful of people I do know (from various companies), tell me management is pushing them to the breaking point, demanding 12-hour days, 6 days-a-week. Some demand 7 days-a-week. But they refuse to hire new people. They know it’s cheaper to push their existing employees to death than to hire new people.

There is no shortage of workers. What there is is a shortage of people willing to work for crap wages under crap conditions.

It’s just like 1998 all over again, when tech companies bemoaned a shortage of programmers, while just a few years earlier, tens of thousands of engineers were let go following the end of the Cold War. Those engineers who were not programmers could have been easily retrained, as most already had some experience programming.

The only shortage back then was of masses of young, poorly trained Indian programmers willing to become indentured servants for the chance to work in the US. And that “shortage” led to a massive expansion of the H-1B program at the expense of domestic engineers, especially older engineers.

I expect we’ll soon hear calls for more H-1Bs. However, it may not be necessary given all the illegal aliens coming in today.

Elcil November 11, 2021 - 5:32 PM - 5:32 PM
greg November 10, 2021 - 3:24 PM - 3:24 PM

Yeah…but…people can actually *gather together* this Thanksgiving.

HIgher food prices were incoming regardless of potus. Food producers have insisted for years they are under charging consumers. THis isn’t a one off and there won’t be a quick fix.

ANd honestly, I don’t see the problem. Capitalism demands higher prices, more margins. Only a commie would insist the gubmint needs to fix pricing.

Puffandstuff November 10, 2021 - 6:35 PM - 6:35 PM

LOL
My large extended family has been getting together this whole time.
And we are all still here and healthy 🤭

Yves Harlowe November 10, 2021 - 10:43 PM - 10:43 PM

We’ve been.gathering with family and friends since May of 2020. We stayed home for 6 weeks, and that was way too much. We don’t need government permission to gather for holiday.s

Old Timer November 10, 2021 - 3:53 PM - 3:53 PM

Sam you hit the nail on the head.They screwed up this country.Good luck Dems.

concord grape November 10, 2021 - 4:03 PM - 4:03 PM

If this were taken care of early 2020 rather than saying “it will be over in 30 days” we wouldn’t be in this mess. I have right to blame the previous Boob just as much anyone has blaming the present one.

Sam November 10, 2021 - 4:06 PM - 4:06 PM

💥 BOOM 💥 Off topic but not really.
Chinese cdc just confirmed the virus is is not real. They never isolated it just like our cdc. The chinese posted a genetic code online and the vaccine makers used it to make the vaccine.

What is the mystery chinese code being injected into everybody and used to up turn the entire world?

Remember, COVID HOAX is the excuse for EVERYTHING that is in disarray.

Ricardoh November 10, 2021 - 5:10 PM - 5:10 PM

Probably most of us do not like it but can get by. However someone just scrapping by with a bunch of kids is not going to be that lucky.

gebertx November 10, 2021 - 5:56 PM - 5:56 PM

Get ready, inflation is just building up steam, inflation will drive unemployment, Government prints $$ for Benefits, Inflation only goes up more, as Milton Freedman said, printing money causes inflation … our Leadership in DC (all of them) missed reading Econ for Dummies

Governor Newsom is quite concerned that while shoplifters will feel no effects regarding prices, they will be negatively affected by supply issues.

Racism against the shoplifters. This won’t do……..

Phil November 11, 2021 - 4:42 PM - 4:42 PM

Married couples without kids git $7600 in “stimulus payments” since last year. Those with kids got more. Of course we’ve got inflation out of control! When people don’t have to earn their keep, the value of money declines and it takes more to buy the same item. It’s like your daughter giving away her favors: it no longer has as much value. Trump started this by not dealing with the virus in January 2020 and continued his stupidity until he was turned out of office. Dopey Joe hasn’t made things any better. Free money is not the solution. There is no free lunch.
